I cut some orange card with decorative scissors, and stuck it along two edges of yellow card that had four scalloped circles placed on it ( two were in half ). I stamped the poppy head on three circles, and then the flower complete with stems and bud on some white card, and coloured them in. The whole poppy was stuck with 3D pads to give some dimension

Supplies :

Stamps = Simply Sketched and Express Yourself
Inks = Black, Crisp Cantaloupe, Regal Rose, and Lucky Limeade

I'm still a little fragile so I'm off to bed again. Have a great weekend and I'll be back soon

VW Camper in clay

Today, I have something completely different to show you, and which I am entering in to the challenge at Make My Monday where they want ANYTHING BUT A CARD

My Sisters fiance, Russell, is VW Camper van crazy and owns a bright red one. I thought I would make them a house plate for Christmas out of Sculpey clay ( Cass don't let Russ see this post! ). I also made some dinosaur fossils for Nathan out of the scraps.

The VW badge was the hardest thing to do, and in the end after 3 or 4 attempts, and fails, to cut the waste away, I made it in situ with a long and fine roll of clay.

I made the scraps into a Sabre Tooth Tigers fang, a footprint, and a pendant. I haven't decided yet whether to varnish them or not, but I think the Camper van will need it to withstand the elements in winter. I'll put some leather cord through the holes of the rest so they can be hung from a zip or bag.

Thanks for dropping by, and hope you can call back again soon

He's a Wanderer!

My card today is for two challenges.

First, it's my DT card for The Male Room where the theme this week is
THE GREAT OUTDOORS

and second, is this sketch from the Paper Players

Here's my card

I rotated the sketch 180*, and sponged the scene with the grassy hill and clouds in the sky. The wanderer was stamped and coloured with an Aqua Painter and cut with a Nestie label, before being placed on the scene with 3D pads. The stamped sign post shows the way to the top of the hill, and the tufts of grass are made with the ends of tree branches stamped over the edge of some torn paper.

Now for those of you who don't know, I live in the shadows of the Malvern Hills, which are famous for their pure waters, and that our lovely Queen Elizabeth takes bottles of it with her on her travels. The wanderer on the card is climbing the highest hill, Worcestershire Beacon, which is 1,394 feet above sea level. In the past, fires were lit here to send messages of impending attack to the surrounding counties, and in more present times, to signify special events such as the Queens Jubilee and the Olympics.

Supplies :
Card = Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, and white base FMS
Stamps = Papermania, Flower Soft, and Lovely as a Tree
Inks = Black Archival, and numerous (9) SU colours.
Tools = Big Shot, Nestabilities, Post Its, Aqua Painter, and Sponges
Extras = 3D Pads

Things are still a little crazy with Mum being ill, and my treatment, but I hope to be back to normal soon

Thanks for all your well wishes and kind thoughts

Before I leave you today, here are the birthday and get well cards, Nathan and Sophie made for my Mum ( Nana to them). I helped with the heat embossing, and cutting the Swallowtail out, but the colours and positions of flowers etc., were all done by the kids themselves.

Don't you think they have the artistic flare?

Mum comes out of hospital tonight, so I'm nearly back to normal, except I'm having my hospital treatment tomorrow again!! ( these four weeks soon come around! ) , so I'll be back very soon.

Hi All.

I have some bad news I'm afraid, I may be off line for a while as my Mum is in hospital with Meningitis! She will be 70 on Saturday so she's not very happy, but we'll do what we can to keep her spirits up.

I hope that I can get back to crafting very soon.
