Mojo Monday is Growing Green

Hello fellow crafters,

I'm sorry that I've been so busy lately, but here I am keen as ever to blog again.

My new long awaited SU set Growing Green has arrived and I picked it up yesterday at my friend Jacqueline's, and I just had to start using it, after of course we'd had a good old natter over coffee. I decided to enter my card into the Mojo Monday Challenge so followed their sketch.

I started with a cream card from my stash and randomly stamped the GGreen rose in Real Red over it. I then stamped the leaf spray one above the other and sponged over it in Certainly Celery, and then cut away the right hand edge to make the vertical ribbon. I cut 2 SB nestabilities labels with the BS, one in Wild Wasabi, and one in Whisper White which was then stamped with the GGreen leaf in CCelery and coloured with a water pen to spread the ink. I then cut a circle in Real Red and one in WWhite ( I drew around 2 glasses for the round shapes as I don't have these nesties yet!) and stamped the rose in RRed on the white and again spread the ink with a water pen.A red ribbon and bow from my stash was placed across the card before the layered shapes were stuck on top of it. It was all finished with a RRed sentiment from Woodware.  Phew, there is steam coming from my laptop's keyboard now!! Ooooops.

Anyway, take a look at the finished article and see what you think

Please drop by again soon if you get a chance to as I've got another, very different, card to show you.

40th Birthday cards

Well what a hectic week I've had. My sister, Ali, was 40 on Saturday and I'd been helping Mum get things sorted for a BBQ and get together. Why is it that there never seems to be enough spare time for when you want to put your feet up and craft. I had managed to do these cards for her though ( the tri shutter card bares some of Ali's most favourite things and colours so it may seem muddled to you). I hope she likes them.

I used some SU Yo Yo Yellow as the card base, layered with Green Galore, and Whisper White.I then stamped onto the front, back, and center panels, the flourish from the Bliss set with the edges masked off,and a little corner stamp(which I think is Woodware ) in Chocolate Chip. The little pony is a Clarity stamp, and the running dogs are on the SU Tailgating roller (that I've undone from the roller itself) and coloured with Watercolour pencils. The gooey chocolate cake and pile of presents are from SU Happy Moments and coloured with Pro markers. The sentiment and numbers are Woodware. I had added a yellow butterfly to the front after the photo was taken.

This card is for Mum to give her,and there is no mention of her age as she requested.

I started with a cream card from my stash and rounded the corners. I then ran some Whisper White through the BS with a large label die and layered that on some Lavender Lace. Some Green Galore was used in the BS with a Marianne vine die to climb up the side and along the bottom of the label. The flowers were made with LLace (petals sponged with Orchid Opulence) and Pretty In Pink(sponged with Regal Rose) cut in BS with Crealies die. All finished with the H from Strength and Hope, and sentiment from Woodware stamped in Melon Mambo, and gems in the flower centers.

Hopefully I can get some crafting done this week as I've missed entering all the challenges, please keep your fingers crossed for me,and hope to be back soon.

Things with legs take 2

After submitting the insect card, I decided that it was a bit OTT, so for a simpler card I made this one

I used a cream card from my stash and stamped it with SU Tailgating in black Archival ink. I then used watercolours and pencils to colour it in and a white gel pen for the white poodle so it would show up ( not that you can see it very well in my photo). With my RA I'm not very good using the roller so I removed the rubber, stuck on some Easymount so it would cling to my ruler ( an idea poached from Vicky,Thanks Vicky, see her brilliant blog here). This was finished off with a Woodware sentiment.

I'm happier with this card, what do you think?

Insect Invasion

Hello friends, Thanks for stopping by my blog and for your patience while I've been having a few health problems.

Today I've finally got the strength to get creating again, and as it's the British Grand Prix I'm rooted to the sofa with my crafting stuff. I've seen that over at Less is More their theme is Something with legs, and at first I thought of the usual butterflies and animals, but then I remembered that I had a set of Inkadinkado insects ( as I'm scared stiff of creepy crawlies,I've no idea why I got these??). So out they came to invade the daisies from SU Inspired by Nature.

To make my entry I used SU Whisper White card for the base and stamped the flowers and grass from Inspired by Nature in Certainly Celery ( my favourite green),Crushed Curry,Melon Mambo, and Rich Razzleberry.I then stamped the caterpillar climbing up the stem with Bermuda Bay and CCurry, and the spider on his thread hanging from the petals in Soft Suede and Dusty Durango. The Bumblebee and sentiment were stamped with Black Archival and coloured with CCurry, before finally rounding all the corners of the card.

Thanks for dropping by,and I hope to show you some more creations in the next few days.

Vintage Best Wishes

Hi everybody and thanks for dropping by,

I'm sorry that I've been off line for so long, but I will be back at the weekend ( it's only the British Grand Prix isn't it!!) and I have been missing getting mucky with inks and making a mess over the lounge.

Anyway, while I'm temporarily back in the land of the living, and as I messed up last weeks entry for the  Make My Monday Challenge I thought I'd better have a quick go at this weeks before I go back to bed and run out of time for submitting. The theme is Vintage
and has to incorporate three of these four colours, so as SU Tempting Turquoise was out on my table, I decided to use that with the cream and blue.
First I made a 5" x 5" square card of SU Whisper White and sponged around the edge, a border of SU Chocolate Chip. ( I've nearly used all my WW so may invest in a different colour!!?) I layered on this some brown card from my stash that has a shimmer of gold through it ( not easy to see in photo). I then used some SU Tempting Turquoise and some Very Vanilla layered on top of each other with the edges again sponged, and finally the top right corners torn off.Using SU CChip, I lightly sponged the VVanilla and stamped it with the flourish from SU Strength and Hope set after stamping it several times on scrap paper first so the image looks faded and old.I then wrapped these  two layers in twine before sticking down on the card. I made a 'Best Wishes' tag in the same way as the card base and tied it with the twine. The last thing was to stamp the butterfly ( or Moth ???) in TTurquoise on VVanilla and cut it out, sponge its edges, draw its antennae with Soft Suede marker and stick it down along its body so that its wings are dimensional.

Sorry, another Senior moment...........I prattled on about it and not posted its picture, so here it is!!

I will now link this and go back to bed to sleep my treatment off.

Hope you are all well out there, and I'll see you in a few days.

Good News & Bad News

Hi everyone,

I have some Good and Bad News.............The Bad first......I'm in hospital tomorrow for my 8 weekly RA IV drip.(I'm only in for the day, but the drip makes me sick and very tired so I'll be out of action again for a few more days).

Now for the Good news.............I CAME TOP 3 at Simply Stampin' Challenge Yaaaay!!!   I know, I cant believe it either ( Thanks Jacqueline for letting me know ) It's really cheered me up no end, so Thank You to all at SSC.

Also, I owe Make My Monday ( Jacqueline) a big apology as I made a card for last weeks challenge and dutifully put it on my blog and linked it to them, but I then forgot to post it on MMM blog ( I think it's an age thing!!!). I'm still trying to get to grips with this blogging lark so I've made myself a little Post It reminder to stick on my laptop to prompt me to link my projects to the challenge blogs.

Anyway, got to get organised for tomorrow, so happy crafting and I'll be back soon.

Gone AWOL !!!

Hi everyone

I'm sorry that I've been absent for a few days, and sadly I'm not going to be able to craft for a day or two yet.Yesterday I had my annual visit to the Hospital for my RA Consultation and ended up having the knuckles on my left hand injected as they were badly swollen and painful.Thank goodness I can type and do most things with one hand, but crafting is not one of them!! I hope my hand will loosen up in a couple of days,so as soon as I'm able, "I'll Be Back" !!!! All I can do is relax and watch the tennis.....OH DEAR!

I would like to take this opportunity though, and thank everyone who has become one of my followers, and say that I hope you like what you see, and for everyone who has left me a comment, I thank you for your time and encouragement.

Hope to be back soon
