Blue Flowering Flourishes

Yaaaay! I'm a Featured Artisan over at Paper Craft Crew so a big "Thanks" to their DT.

Today's card is for two challenges.

The first is this sketch from a new site I've found at Paper Craft Crew

and second, these colours from ColourQ

Here is my card

I started by randomly stamping the flourish in Brilliant Blue on Bashful Blue card and then embossing this with a fan EF, before sponging the edges. A border punch was used to make the yellow strip, and then a black ribbon wrapped around it. The sentiment was stamped on some Naturals card which was then cut in a Nestie and tucked under the yellow strip with a flower and some ribbon. All this was then layered on a white card base.

Supplies :
Card = Bashful Blue, Daffodil Delight, Blue and White base FMS
Stamps= Flowering Flourishes and Verve
Inks = Brilliant Blue
Tools = Big Shot, Nestabilities, Shapeabilities, Martha Stewart border punch, and SU Fan EF
Extras = Ribbon and 3D pads

Thanks for looking today, and I'll be back soon

Yappy Birthday #2

This is the same card as posted earlier today, but without the green vines. I think my card needed it to make sense of the flowers. What do you think?

I'm entering this again for CAS Colours and Sketches.

Supplies are the same as before but without the Lucky Limeade vine.

Be back soon

Yappy Birthday

We're still covered in snow here, so It's a good excuse to stay in the warm and craft while waiting for the Grand Prix to start.

My card today is for two challenges.

Firstly CAS Colours and Sketches with this colour palette,

and then CASe this Sketch with this sketch
 Here it is

My dog is a Die-Monde die put through the Big Shot and made in Crumb Cake ( as I don't have River Rock )and edges sponged with Suede. He is actually sat down, but I've manipulated his body so he looks like he has jumped up onto a Flower Soft white picket fence stamped in Suede on Natural White. I pieced together the sentiment and stamped it in red. I then punched some Red flowers for the fence, but they didn't look right so I've added a green vine ( I'm crossing my fingers that I haven't broken the colour rules?! ), and Crumb Cake and White Pearl centres.

Supplies :
Card = Crumb Cake, Real Red, Lucky Limeade, and White base FMS
Stamps = Flower Soft, and Verve
Inks = Soft Suede, Black, Real Red, and White Gel Pen
Tools = Big Shot, Die-Monde Die, Marianne Vine die, Readicut Flower punches, and Stamp-a-ma-jig#
Extras = White Pearls and 3D pads

I had a fun night playing Bingo at Nathan's school on Friday, and I won a prize. Have a look

Poor Nathan thought that he had marked a full house, and Mike ( his Daddy ) shouted out. One of the PTA members came over to our table to check the card and he realised that there was one number not marked off, so it was a false call. Talk about embarrassing with everyone looking at us, but someone else won with the next number called, and Nathan was gutted. I offered him my mug but he didn't want it, so hopefully next time he will be luckier.

Thanks for dropping by

Stampin' Royalty with this photo inspiration,

and Addicted to Stamps where we are to MAKE YOUR MARK! and use marker pens

I stamped the sentiment and rabbit in Archival ink and coloured him with my Write Markers and Aqua painter. I then embossed some pink card and layered that on some darker card that had white ornate corners on the one end. Three green vines were then added on the pink card, and a white ribbon wrapped horizontally around the middle.

The rabbit was placed on a scallop Nestie and 3D pads, with the finishing touch of a bow and sentiment tag.

Supplies :
Card = Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink, Lucky Limeade, Crumb Cake, Naturals White, and white card and base FMS
Stamps = Daisy and Dandelion and Verve
Inks = Black Archival, Melon Mambo, Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake, and Lucky Limeade
Tools = Aqua painter, Big Shot, Nestabilities, Xcut corner punch, Marianne Corner and Vines, and SU Fan EF
Extras = 3D pads and white ribbon

We had a snow blizzard last night and the snow was settling when I went to bed, and so I expected to find inches of snow when I woke up. Luckily overnight it had turned to sleet, and now rain so it's almost all gone. Thank goodness it has as I'm going to Nathan's school tonight to play Bingo, and I don't want him to be disappointed. They are raising funds for various equipment for the school and so often have these fun evenings to include the children's friends and family. Fingers crossed we win something!

Anyway, have a great weekend whatever the weather decides to do.

Masculine Monochrome

My card this morning has a masculine feel to it and is for two challenges

before stamping the sentiment underneath it.

A Mouse Drops in

Yaaaaay! I've just seen that I was in the Top 3 at Stampin' Royalty last week, so I'm a bit happier than I was this morning.

I stamped the mice and butterfly in Archival ink on white card, and coloured them with SU Write Markers, softening the colour with an Aqua painter. I embossed some green card and wrapped it at the top with some CC card that had been punched along the edges, and some black ribbon. Pretty in Pink

Today, I have finished a card that I started yesterday while Sophie had a little snooze. I am entering it into two challenges

First is Retro Sketches with this layout

and Fab Friday with these juicy colours

Here's my card

I started by stamping the flower head on a white card base in SS and rounding two corners. I then cut some PiP , CC, LL, and white Nesties Labels in the BS and layered them together to make the frill at the bottom. Some pink card was put through the BS in an embossing folder, and the bottom cut to shape to mimic the frill, before all being placed on the base.

The flower was stamped on the white Nestie label, which in turn was layered on CC and LL labels and stuck on the base with 3D pads. A big white bow and the black sentiment were added as the final touches.
Supplies :

Card = Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Pretty in Pink, Clarity Silk, and white base FMS
Stamps = Ornate Flowers and Verve
Inks = Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Blushing Bride, Black, and Sahara Sand

I was at the Dr's this morning, and have been diagnosed as a Diabetic now, so another ailment to add to my health list. Oh well, there is always someone worse off than me, so I'll not moan about it.

Hope you bloggers are all well and dandy out there, and have a good weekend.

Be back soon

Blue Bird

This is my second post today, and my card is for two challenges.

Paper Craft Crew with this sketch,

and Stampin' Royalty  who have these colours

Here's my card

I started by colouring the edges of a white card base and a square of white card with a Suede Write Marker. I then randomly stamped a brown flower onto some blue card, before wrapping yellow ribbon around it and layering onto the base, finishing with a bow. I used a border punch along one edge of the second card and laid some more white card on top. Here I stamped the bird from one of my favourite sets without his main tail, masked his body with a Post It, and then stamped the elaborate feathers in its place. I stamped three yellow flowers which I grouped in the corner, with one on 3D pads. For the final touches I added the sentiment and gems.

Card = Pool Party, and White card and base FMS
Stamps = Whimsical Wings and Verve

Birthday Wishes

Wow! I was picked for the Top 6 at Mojo Monday  for my Nature Walk card, So I'm really chuffed and send a big "Thank You" to their DT.

then Color Throwdown with these colours,

and lastly, Less is More who want a CAS project with a FRAME

I stamped the frames onto white card in Pumpkin, and cut them out. On both I stamped some leaves, and in one I also stamped a sentiment. I then stamped the tall flowers in opposing corners of some white card and layered this onto some card on which I'd drawn a border of Crumb Cake around the edges. I wrapped some orange organza ribbon with a bow, around the centre of the card before adding the frames on 3D pads. I made the roses in Pink and Crumb Cake, cutting them out and arranging them onto both frames, with one rose on each being raised on 3D pads for dimension.

Butterfly Stripes

This is my card of today, and I'll be sending it in for these two challenges:

Dynamic Duo's who have these colours, and

Simply Less is More  who want a ONE LAYER CARD with

            SPOTS AND STRIPES

Here is my card

First, I stamped the flowers with their spotty stems and added a few extra blue flowers. Then I stamped the two small butterflies, and added the sentiment to the bottom one. Next, I used my butterfly punch to make a shaped hole in some scrap paper, and positioned it near the centre of the card. I masked off a strip across the aperture and sponged along it with blue ink, then moved the masks and sponged in the gap with green ink, and continued along the whole area. When I removed the masks, I was left with white stripes as well which I quite liked so left them alone. The last thing was to stamp the body and spots on the wings of the large butterfly.

Supplies :
Card = White card FMS
Stamps = Simply Said and Flight of the Butterfly
Inks = Lucky Limeade and Pool Party
Tools = Butterfly punch, sponges and masking tape

I had forgotten to post this card. It was what we made at our Tuesday workshop.

The image was stamped onto some White card which was then cut up into nine tiles. The edges of these were sponged and then placed onto card brown card with a gap in between each one, then onto some blue card with a scalloped top. This was then placed on some DSP and wrapped with a green ribbon.

Supplies :
Card = Bashful Blue, Tan and White cards FMS
Stamps = Upsy Daisy and Verve
Inks = Gumball Green, Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, and Tea Dye TH ink
Tools = Martha Stewart punch
Extras = ribbon and 3D pads

I'm in hospital for my RA treatment again on Wednesday so I may be off blogland for a few days while I recover in bed. I'm sorry that I haven't had chance to blog hop lately, but you can see by the times that I have posted my last few entries, just how late at night they have been, and I don't think the match sticks keeping my eyes open can hold for much longer!.

Have fun crafting, and I hope to be back as soon as I can to leave some comments.

Berry Bliss

Well here goes, the start of another week and another post. I hope you've all had a good weekend and were pampered and treated like a Queen on Mothers Day.

Today, I will be entering my card in for three challenges,

The colours are from Pals Paper Arts,

the sketch from Paper Craft Crew,

and Make My Monday are looking for

                  HEAT EMBOSSING

Here is my card

I randomly stamped the flower and word onto cream card in the three colours, then wrapped a ribbon around one end, and stuck this onto a cream card on which I'd coloured the border of Razzelberry. The flourish was stamped in ink, before I stamped over it with Versamark ( Using the Stamp-a-ma-jig of course!) and heat embossed it with clear powder.

Here is a closer view of the shiny embossing.

This flourish was cut with a Nestabilitie in the Big Shot and placed on the card on 3D pads. For the finishing touches I added a bow, the sentiment, and the butterfly which had also been heat embossed.

Supplies :
Card = Cream card and base FMS
Stamps = Bliss, and Verve sentiment
Inks = Rich Razzelberry, Calypso Coral, and Crumb Cake
Tools = Big Shot, Nestabilities, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Heat Gun
Extras = Clear EP, 3D pads, and ribbon

I had an unusual visitor waiting for me on my doorstep over the weekend, have a look

We've looked him up on the Internet and discovered that he's a common lizard found all over the Midlands and south of the UK. I just thank my lucky stars that he wasn't a tarantula, because if he had been I'd still be sat in the car!!! As it is, I'm not afraid of lizards, and I had to pick him up to move him, as I had triggered my security light, and the bright beam scared him stiff, literally. In case you think I'm being sexist, he is a male as their markings and colour are slightly different to the female. I'm going to call him Dusty, as I've put him in a cavity underneath my dustbin.

OK, enough of the Crazy Lady talk. Thanks for dropping by and hope to see you again soon
