Mojo Monday Madness

Its time again for  another Mojo Monday challenge #193 and this is this weeks sketch :-

After taking my elderly neighbour, Gordon, shopping,I went round to my friend Jacquelines to create my entry for this weeks challenge. We did the usual gossiping over coffee while I recovered from my shopping ordeal, before starting to craft, and, after opting to do the square card, what did I automatically reach for????......yep,you guessed it,bright pink and green papers and card!!!!!!What is wrong with me???Anyway here it is ( put sunglasses on now)

The 6"x6" card is SU Whisper white, and the  papers were given to me some time ago by Jacqueline, and the centre square is cut with Spellbinders die with SU Gable green card. I then coloured the cream butterfly ribbon and a white card Spellbinders butterfly with Pixie pink ink to alter the colour to match the patterned papers. The die cut butterfly was then put through a Cuttlebug Floral Fantasy embossing folder, before gems were stuck on its body.Gems were also added to the green square.

On reaching home some 4 hours later,as I rushed to turn my lap top on,my friend Rita called in for a cuppa and chat. After another couple of girly chatting hours, I remembered that I have a man coming to my bedroom tomorrow morning!!!!.....IN MY DREAMS..........He's only calling to install digital TV to my bedroom portable.OH Well, anyway I had to change the bedding and make sure the room was tidy ( you know how we girls are like about our boudoirs!!). You may think that I'm making a mountain out of a mole hill, but for those of you who dont know me, I suffer from severe Rhuematoid Arthritis so what takes a normal person  half an hour, takes me 2 hours.

Now with everything done I can finally sit down and do my blog.
Thanks for dropping by and look out for my next creation as I'm going to attempt something daring without a safety net,and use muted tones!!!
See you soon,Bev.x

Fathers Day Bliss

I'm Back again for the second time in one day!!, (is it too much I'm asking myself?), anyway while sat glued to the brilliant Grand Prix yesterday ( sorry to keep on but it's another of my passions....all that Testosterone, men in tight suits, and fast cars......I cant get enough) I made this card for the Stamping411 #205 challenge. My sister,Ali, had asked me to make several Fathers Day cards for my nephew Nathan, and new niece Sophie to give to their Dad and Grandads so this is one of  them.I used SU Whisper white and Bashful blue card stock, and the Bliss set stamped in Bashful blue ink on labels made by my trusty Spellbinders nestabilities, and finished off with a Martha Stewart punch at the bottom. Why are male cards so difficult??

I love this stamp set as the flourish is so versatile......I'll try to put it away for awhile and use a different set for my next post, I promise.

Thank you for dropping by, and for all your lovely and encouraging comments left over my last posts.
I'll be back soon,Bev.x

Oriental inspiration

Morning everyone.Well what typical Bank Holiday weather.......rain and more rain!!, oh well I'll just have to stay in and force myself to do some crafting.
The other day while searching for my small punch to do the centers of my peonies,I found my oriental papers that my sister brought back from Hong Kong and just had to use them.I made this card for the clean and simple challenge(pop over and have a look),using SU whisper white, real red,and basic black card to make the base, embellished by real red flower edge punched (Martha Stewart)and chrysanthemum, sentiment from Daisy and Dandelion stamps mounted on Spellbinders nestabilities label, and finally oriental paper and black ribbon from my stash. Please take a look

Thanks for stopping by and for all the kind and encouraging comments.
Be back soon, Bev.x

Flower frenzy

Here we are again ( I think I might be getting the hang of this blogging lark now ( THANKS JACQUELINE FOR YOUR PROMPTING AND HELP! )) I've just finished watering my mum's garden as she is sunning herself in Spain with my stepdad, and although we've had some rain lately the plants and pots are still bone dry. I'll be quick today as the Grand Prix proper is about to start and I need to get coffee and craft stuff etc. ready to sit in front of the TV.
My next card is all about my favourite flowers, peonies, and it is going in simply stampin challenge floral frenzy.Let me know what you think?..as usual they are brightly coloured!!

I used my new Blossom Petals punch to make the petals from cardstock (of SU Pretty in Pink,YoYo Yellow,Orchid Opulence,Bravo Burgandy, and the green from my stash) and each one was sponged with the same colour ink to give the petals more definition, and then they were curled with a boning tool before being stuck down. The sentiment is from Whimsical words set. Here is a side view to show the curling petals.

I hope you have a great bank holiday tomorrow,I cant wait to see what the next weeks challenges are going to be. Thanks for stopping by. I'll blog again soon. Bev.x

Best wishes

I've had a great morning today! I had a lie in, then got together my crafting bits and pieces, and sat creating in front of the TV watching the Monaco Grand Prix and French Open Tennis, with plenty of hot coffee and a bar of Cadburys chocolate to keep me going......MMMMMMmmmmmmm!! I made the second Thank You card I needed (see yesterdays post) and my entry for the Less Is More challenge. Here is my card,I hope you like it......I have noticed that more and more my style seems to be to use really bright colours! Do you think my psyche is trying to tell me something???

I have sponged the bottom left hand corner with SU Pretty In Pink ( my camera angle doesn't show this very well I'm sorry ),and used my Spellbinders Shapeabilities  to cut the square in Green Galore card stamped at the bottom in SU classic black with Woodware sentiment, topped off with a Pretty In Pink Spellbinders butterfly put through a budding vine embossing folder by Craft Concepts, all finished with a couple of gem stones from my stash.

Thanks for calling by today and please pop back tomorrow to see something that took me ages to put together for another challenge. Bye for now, Bev.x

Thank You card

This card was inspired by the challenge on Splitcoast stampers, but I made it for my friend Jacqueline's grandfather who has emptied his garden pond and given me his fish,I hope he likes it.
I have used chocolate chip card stock and ink, with background paper that I was given as a present, and used my other favourite SU set Strength and Hope.

Jacqueline ( THANKFULLY) is hoovering over my shoulder as she is there if I need her expertise to upload this card as I am flying solo on this one!!!!!!

Bliss

This is my favourite Stampin Up stamp set at the moment and I've used it to enter my friend Jacqueline's new challenge blog Make It Monday. I've used Real red to stamp the Bliss ornate flourish where I had masked off the side sprigs to make the design more rounded, and then stamped the sentiment from the Woodware greetings set.The patterned paper is from my stash, and the card used for the mounts is Real Red and Yo Yo Yellow, the scalloped border was done with my Martha Stewart punch, and then finished off with some square gem stones. Here is my card, and if you'd like to see the inspiration sketch on Jacqueline's blog feel free to pop over to it.

Less is More.

Hi there again - just a quickie post to upload my card in the Less is More challenge. The theme this week is Butterfly or Butterflies.
Here is my card
The background is sponged directly on to my card and the grass is from the Inspired by Nature set. The butterflies are cut using my Big Shot and Nestability dies, they are then put through the Big Shot again but this time inside an embossing folder. And that as they say is that, except to say hope you like it and see you soon - Bev x.

Clean & Simple.

The challenge this week at Clean and Simple is a sketch

For my card I used the retired Stampin' Up set Inspired by Nature - take a look

The stamp was inked using marker pens - Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo and Certain Celery. The moth is from the new Strength and Hope set and is stamped in Bashful Blue.
Thanks for looking - if you have the time please leave a comment I really appreciate every one - Bev x.

Mojo Monday & Simply Stampin'

I am really starting to get into blog challenges now and today I have been clever and combined two. I followed the sketch from this week's Mojo Monday

and the colour combo from Simply Stampin'
and here is my card

I haven't got all the colours yet so I had to substitute a couple. I did however use Stampin' Up stamp set Bliss - which is one of my favourites.
I've been really busy lately making cards so will be back tomorrow with some more - hope you can join me - Bev x.

Just Missed It

I have had a lot of opportunities to craft recently - so I have made quite a few cards. Unfortunately my friend Jacqueline has been away and I forgot how to up-load my photos! This card follows the sketch from last week's Simply Stampin' but I missed the deadline but please take a look anyway
This is a card for my Step-dad for Father's Day - it's got sunflowers on because he and my Nephew, Nathan are having a competition to see who can grow the biggest - sunflower that is!
The background card stock was stamped in Versamark ink with a stamp from the Greenhouse Garden set from Stampin' Up. I used my Nestabilities and Big Shot to cut the label and the borders were punched with a Martha Stewart punch.
I will get my entry in on time this week as I made it this morning over at Jacqueline's - she will have to help me up-load it though ........again! - Bev x.

It was made with my new Stampin' Up set - Bliss and the card stock is from my crafting stash. I will see you in a day or seven after I've recovered!! - Bye for now - Bev.

At Last .........Another Card!

It has been a while since my last post but after being badgered by my friend Jacqueline I have decided to update!
This is a card I made at Jacquelines last workshop. It demonstrates the Black Magic technique which you can see explained over on her blog here. Basically it is black card stock stamped with white pigment ink and then coloured with pencils
Hopefully it won't be too long before I'm back again!!!
