Pleasant Poppies

Happy 4th July to all my friends in USA, I hope you're having a great time and have plenty of celebrations planned. Also, a big "Hello and Welcome" to my new followers. I'm quite surprised, and really excited that I've got almost 50 now!, so thanks to you all for joining my blog.

Anyway, today I've made this card while watching the fantastic Wimbledon semi final.

I am also entering it into these challenges :

The sketch is from Clean and Simple,

I took the colours and poppy theme from Fusion Cards,

Stampin' Royalty want us to
KEEP IT SIMPLE,

Addicted to Stamps want us to MAKE YOUR MARK,

and lastly, CAS-ual Friday want SUMMER HEARTS

First, I stamped some poppies on white card, masked them, and re-stamped them, before cutting them into a hand drawn heart shape.I coloured them with my SU markers, and then hand cut a heart frame from blue card and placed it over the flowers and stuck it down with 3D pads on a square base. I then embossed a strip of blue card with diagonals and added some black marker stripes. The finishing touch was the sentiment banners highlighted with red heart sequins.

Supplies :
Card = Marina Mist, Whisper White, Black, and white base FMS
Stamps = Pleasant Poppies and Tea Shoppe
Inks = Black, Poppy Parade, and Certainly Celery
Tools = Big Shot, Sizzix Textures, and Stamp-a-ma-jig
Extras = Post Its, Heart Sequins, and 3D Pads

I'm still not feeling 100% after my treatment, so I am going back to bed for a little nap. I need all my energy for shouting at the TV this weekend as it's the men's final at Wimbledon, and the British F1 Grand Prix. Yaaaay!

Thanks for dropping by and have a great weekend whatever you are doing.

Golden Poppies

Here is my second card for today. I apologise for the photo but the gold glitter in the vellum made the flash bounce everywhere

Some white card was embossed in a butterfly folder with the insects flying up the right hand side of the card. I then heat embossed the poppy and sentiment in gold EP on the gold vellum, and cut it into a banner. It was all finished with a gold embossed butterfly and some mini gems.

I am entering these challenges :

The sketch and inspiration come from two challenges that have come together CASe this Sketch and Fusion Cards
