Pick Up Birthday

Today my card is for the Less is More challenge  where we had the choice of these two sketches

I'm not sure if Chrissie and Mandi will allow my card in their challenge as I've added my own twist on the sketch. I hope so, take a look and see what you think?

Not only have I changed the central shape, but I've made it into a window with the Pick Up set back behind it on 3D pads to add some dimension.

I've made this for my Brother In Laws Birthday next week, and I'm not sure now if I used this stamp last year?? Oh well, at least I tried!!

Recipe :
Card = Bashful Blue, and cream card FMS
Stamps = Loads of  Love and Accessories, and Verve
Inks = Basic Black, Island Indigo, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Soft Suede, Poppy Parade, and Pro Markers
Tools = Big Shot, Nestabilities, and Stamp-a-ma-jig
Extras = 3D pads

Thanks for looking, and hope to see you again soon

Baby Blossom Inchies

Today it's done nothing but rain here, so I had the choice of housework or craft!!, of course I decided to do the chores (Not ), but I had to move my craft stuff first, and accidentally a card got created.

I will be entering in to the Mojo Monday challenge where they have this sketch

Here is my card

The rosette was made by scoring a strip of DSP (which also lies as the matt under the tiles ) at even intervals and concertina folding it into a circle and then the top edge was flattened and secured in the centre.

I love pinks/reds and greens colour combo's. What do you think?

Recipe :
Card = Very Vanilla, Pear Pizzazz , and cream card base from my stash
Stamps = Baby Blossoms, and Basic Phrases
Inks = Calypso Coral, Melon Mambo, and Pear Pizzazz
Tools = Big Shot, Nestabilities, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Embossing board and tool, and Marianne die
Extras = SU DSP, and green ribbon from my stash.

Thanks for looking today, and Thank you to all you kind bloggers who leave me your lovely comments.

I'm back to "Mum sitting" tomorrow, and poor Angela starts Radiotherapy on Tuesday so I don't know when I'll get chance to craft again, so please bear with me, and I'll be back asap.

Bird in the Blossom

Today my card is for the  CAS-ual Fridays challenge where they want to see a CAS project with  Flowers or Trees

I've combined the 2 for my card and made a blossom branch of a tree. Here's my entry

After stamping the bird, I masked her with a Post It and stamped the blossom branch under and behind her. I used pale pastel Spring colours, but my camera doesn't do them justice, so I hope you can see her OK.

Recipe :
Card = White card base from my stash
Stamps = Whimsical Wings, Garden Silhouettes, and Verve
Inks = Soft Suede, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party, and Crushed Curry
Tools = Stamp-a-ma-jig

I hope you like it, and thanks for dropping by today.

New Home

Yaaaaaaay !! I've come Top3 at Make My Monday again, I'm really chuffed that someone else likes my creations, so Thanks Very Much to their DT.

Today I've made a quick "New Home" card using the colours from the Simply Stampin' challenge

and over at Less is More  Chrissie and Mandi are asking for a charm to be part of the project.

Here is my card made with a new eBay purchase.

I love this colour combo, but I don't have any Pink Pirouette, so I've used Blushing Bride for the house, and then I've coloured the edges of some Very Vanilla with the same SU Write Marker to make the Nestabilitie matt. I have also had to substitute the Marina Mist for Bermuda Bay, so I hope that my card is acceptable to the Simply Stampin' DT?. The sentiment is raised on 3D pads so the charm can hang and dangle from the ribbon bow.

Recipe :
Card = Very Vanilla, and cream card base from my stock
Stamps = Good Neighbourhood and Flower Soft sentiment
Inks = Soft Suede, Blushing Bride, and Bermuda Bay
Tools = Big Shot, Nestabilities, and Stamp-a-ma-jig
Extras = Ribbon, 3D pads, and Silver metal heart charm

I'll be busy tomorrow, battling my way around Tesco's with Angela in a wheelchair, so if I survive that I should be back over the weekend with some more projects ( fingers crossed! )

Thanks for dropping by

Puppy Birthday

I've not had much time to myself today, but I've had to find time to made a quick card to give to my  sister tomorrow for her neighbour's son Mark, who is having a Springer Spaniel for his birthday at the weekend.

I've combined several challenges to make my card, the first is Clean and Simple who gave us this sketch,

and the second is Make My Monday challenge where their theme is Men and Boys with Birds or animals.

This is the result and I hope it is manly enough?

I cut 5 different sized coloured card circles with the Big Shot and Nestabilities, and stamped the images on them in Chocolate Chip. I used an Aqua Painter to spread the ink and added the odd touch of colour with SU Write Markers ( Well of course SU had to sneak in somewhere!). These were arranged on some DSP with a central pastel green panel that was stamped with the sentiment.

I hope my sister thinks it will be ok, and more importantly, that Mark will like it?

Recipe :
Card = Gable Green, Very Vanilla, Daffodil Delight, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White, and a cream card base from my stash ( hidden under the DSP )
Stamps = Daisy and Dandelion, and Verve sentiment
Inks = Chocolate Chip, Soft Suede, Bermuda Bay, Poppy Parade, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Certainly Celery, and Sakura Gel/Glitter pens
Tools = Big Shot, Nestabilities, and Aqua Painter

That's me for done for now, and I hope to be back soon.

Thanks for stopping to look at my blog.

Friendship card

My card today is for two challenges

the first is the ColourQ challenge where they give us these colours

and next is Stampin' Royalty where they have this sketch

Here's what I came up with

The edges of the DSP were sponged with some gray ink to soften them. The daisy panel is raised on 3D pads for added dimension, and the finishing touches are white pearl gems in the centres of the flowers and black Lotus Pendant.

Recipe :
Card = Basic Black, Basic Gray, Whisper White, Crushed Curry ( I don't have More Mustard ), Dusty Durango, and white card base from my stash
Stamps = Upsy Daisy, and Basic Phrases
Inks = Crushed Curry, Dusty Durango, Sahara Sand, and Gray Pro Marker
Tools = Big Shot, Nestabilities, Lotus Pendant, Readicut flower punches, Martha Stewart border punch, and Stamp-a-ma-jig
Extras = SU DSP and White Pearl gems

I absolutely love the flowers in Upsy Daisy, they look great as silhouettes and even better in colours. What do you think?

The next 2 weeks are going to be a little busy for me, as I'm looking after my friend Rita's 91year old Mum, Angela,  so she can have a holiday. The way I feel at the moment I think Angela will be looking after me!!!!! so we'll see how things go.

I hope I get chance to do some crafting, so please bear with me AGAIN.

Owl card

Today I have made a card that I know will be posted before the deadline!!

It's for the Mojo Monday challenge where they have this sketch for inspiration

This is my card

I cut 4 holes in some pale green card and mounted it on 3D pads on a slightly larger piece of darker green card. This was then matted on some DSP that was on a cream card base. I only had 1 brown owl, so I drew around it to make 3 more, and after adding their eyes and tummy's I placed them in their holes ( also on 3D pads ). I wrote the sentiment on my laptop and printed it on white card that was then layered on green card.

Recipe :
Card = SU DSP, Chocolate Chip, Pear Pizzazz, Green Galore, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Wisteria Wonder, Tempting Turquoise, So Saffron, Whisper White, and Garden Green
Inks = Black  Fine liner and White gel pen
Tools = Owl Punch, and Two step Bird Punch

I think these owls are really cute, and I must buy this punch ( another item on my WANT list !! )

It's a good job it's raining again today, as I've had time to stay inside and make this project............I'm off now to link it to the site quick smart!!!

Thanks for looking and I love it if you could drop by again soon.

Watch the time!!!!!

I DONT beleive it !!!!!

Not once, but TWICE this week I've missed the challenge deadlines...................I really must get a note of challenge closing deadlines pinned to my laptop so I dont do it again.

What a MUPPET I am!!!!

Muppet Birthday!

My card today is for the Friday Mashup challenge where they have this mash up theme

1. Favourite Muppet colour combo
2. Project for kids
3. Both 1 and 2

I went for the colour combo of my favourite Muppet, and the King of all Muppet Land...............Kermit the Frog

Here is my card

As you all know if you've followed me for a while, I just love pink and green, and my favourite SU stamps at the moment are Ornate Flowers, so I simply had to use both today.

I Versamarked the green card with the flower head, before stamping the flower panel twice in pink and cutting them out. The central panel was made by stamping the flower on white card and drawing around it with a Write marker. The panels were raised on 3D pads as was the sentiment under the ribbon.

Recipe :
Card = Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White, and white card base from my stash
Stamps = Ornate Flowers and Verve sentiment
Inks = Versamark, Pixie Pink, Poppy Parade, and Pear Pizzazz
Extras = Ribbon and Martha Stewart border punch

I'm off to the Doctors now as my cough will not go away, and 6 weeks is too long to cope with it any longer, and I'm barking more than Monty is!!

Thanks for dropping by today

Simply Peachy

We're having another wet day here, but the birds are still singing their little hearts out! It also means that I can play with Nathan indoors and have time to get my challenge card on my blog.

Yesterday, I made a card for two challenges, and saved them as a draft until I had time to publish them today......well, guess what?....yes, one of them has ended!!! AAAAAAhhhhhh. Never mind I'll post it anyway.

The sketch was from Clean and Simple

and the colours from Stampin Royalty

Here is my card

The peachy card was embossed in a floral folder with a gap left for the white border, before being laid on a concord crush card base. The sentiment was stamped, and the stamped cut out flowers added, with the two largest being raised on 3D pads for dimension.

Recipe :
Card = Concord Crush, Peach Parfait, and Whisper White
Stamps = Vintage Vogue and Basic Phrases
Inks  = Concord Crush, Peach Parfait, and Blushing Bride
Tools = Big Shot, Cottage Floral embossing folder, embossing tool, and Stamp-a-ma-jig
Extras = 3D pads

I hope you like it.

I'll be back soon when us Super Heroes get some time to ourselves!!

Gardening days

Well as Tuesdays are crafting at Jacqueline's days, that's where I was this morning when I started my male inspired card.

It's for the Make My Monday challenge, where the theme is MEN AND BOYS with added MALE SPORTS OR HOBBIES

Here is what I came up with

The wheelbarrow and its contents are separate stamps which I coloured with Pro markers and SU Write Markers. I then cut them out, stuck them together, and water coloured the background before matting it and placing it on some card stock with the die cut vines bordering it.

Recipe :
Card = Wild Wasabi, Whisper White, and card base from my stash
Stamps = Flower Soft and Verve
Inks = Basic Black, Bashful Blue, TH Tea Dye, and various SU Write Markers and Pro Markers
Tools = Big Shot, Nestabilities, Marianne design vine, and Stamp-a-ma-jig

I will be giving this to my friend's partner on his birthday, as he spends hours pottering around on his allotment, regardless of the weather!!! so when you see this Rita, don't tell Bill.

In my last post I mentioned the sculpture that Nathan had made for me, and I know how you've all been waiting to see this masterpiece, so here it is.                                                  Jacqueline came up with a great idea to hang bird feeders off it, and I think that's what I'll do. The only problem is keeping Monty away from it as he keeps stealing it and wants to gnaw on it!!!

We had a great day yesterday with Sophies first Birthday, we walked the dogs in the woods ( well I went as far as I could and then returned to the car to wait for the adventurers to return!!!), flew a kite, had a picnic, then opened and played with presents, ate too much cake, and then went for a pub meal in the evening............no wonder I dont want to do too much today!!

Anyway, thanks for dropping by, and hope you can come back again soon

Happy Birthday Friend

Today's card is for the ColourQ challenge where they have this palette of yummy colours for us

This is what I came up with

Some red card was embossed and wrapped with a black ribbon, and then the Nestabilities  panels were stamped and decorated before being stuck down. The small panel and large red flower were raised on 3D pads, and the finishing touches are the Shapeabilities sponged butterfly and the red gems ( I hope this is OK with ColourQ ??? )

Recipe :
Card = Whisper White, Poppy Parade, Basic Black, and White card base from my stash
Stamps = Vintage Vogue, My Friend, and Verve
Inks = Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie, and Lucky Limeade
Tools = Big Shot, Nestabilities, Shapeabilities,  Cottage Floral embossing folder, and Stamp-a-ma-jig
Extras = Black ribbon, red gems, and 3D pads

I started this card around at Jacqueline's yesterday afternoon, before having to fly home to mark out my garden boundary, following a dispute with my deceased neighbours son!!!  The story is too long and complicated so I wont bore you, but today all my family came over to erect my new fence. What a long tiring day!!, but after it all I had a fab fence................................and a new sculpture that Nathan made for me, as he says " to keep for ever and ever Aunt Bev". Bless him he was so proud, and it now takes pride of place in my garden. I haven't photographed it yet but I'll show it to you in my next post.

Tomorrow is Grand Prix day so I'll be up with the Lark for the start at 7am, and hopefully I can stay awake long enough to do some crafting in the afternoon.

Monday is my niece Sophie's first Birthday, so I'll be exhausted playing all sorts of kids games, and eating lots of jelly, ice cream, cakes, and sweets!!!!   Why is it when you reach the ripe old age of 9 or 10, these things just don't seem to be top of the menu anymore???

Anyway, I'll be back again soon.

Thanks for dropping by today, and I'd love it if you'd call again soon.

Three Greens

Hello all, hope you're not feeling too sick after all your Easter eggs!!! I'm saving my egg for a rainy day..............which as it happens is today.Yaaaaaaaaay!!

Today, I've made a card for the Less is More challenge where Chrissie and Mandie want to see a project using     THREE SHADES of GREEN

I made this Pear Spotlight card, what do you think?

Choosing 3 greens was harder than I first thought as I have so many SU favourites, but in the end I decided on the ones that made the most of the coloured spotlight area. Using dark green I stamped the pears and leaves using the masking technique onto some white card, and then put it through the Big Shot with a label, and circle nestabilitie to cut the centre of the design out. I then used another green to colour all the pears in, but did a second coat of the two foreground pears to make them slightly darker ( so that's two greens), and then lastly, I coloured the leaf, the larger circle of card, and the larger label to mat and layer the design on. This was then placed on 3D pads onto a card stamped with the darker green sentiment.

Recipe :
Card = White card stock from my stash
Stamps = All Natural and Basic Phrases
Inks = Always Artichoke, Certainly Celery, and Lucky Limeade Write markers
Tools = Stamp-a-ma-jig, Post Its, Big Shot and Labels and circle nestabilities
Extras = 3D pads

Now the rain has stopped I really must go and mow my lawns, hope to be back soon.

Thanks for dropping by

Bunny Love

Well, would you believe it???? I went to Jacqueline's today, and..........amazingly I managed to do some crafting whilst chatting.

The card I made is for two challenges, the first is Clean and Simple where they had this sketch , and I have rotated it 90* so my semi circle is at the bottom,

and the second is CAS-ual Fridays where they are looking for                "SOMETHING YOU FIND IN AN EASTER BASKET"

I don't have any Easter stamps, but I do have a rabbit called Candyfloss! She has hopped out of her basket to pick a flower. After stamping and cutting out the flower,  I have raised her paw up on a 3D pad so it looks like she's holding it, but its not been picked up by my camera angle, Sorry!

What do you think?

Recipe :
Card = Bashful Blue, Very Vanilla, Pear Pizzazz, and white card base from my stash
Stamps = Daisy and Dandelion (rabbit), Ornate Flowers, and Basic Phrases
Inks = Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip, Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, Island Indigo, and Lucky Limeade
Tools = Stamp-a-ma-jig
Extras = SU DSP, 3D pad, and Brown and Pink pencils

Tomorrow is my Super Hero day with Nathan and Sophie, but I hope to be back after that.

Thanks for dropping by

Top 3

I've just realised that I forgot to say that I came Top 3 at Make my Monday on Ist March with my card on their theme of Romance with Flourishes and Diamonds, so I owe a belated "Thank You" to their DT!

Mouse Pop Up Birthday card

Hi everyone, thank you so much for your patience while I've been sorting my health out, and I hope to be back regularly again soon.

I've had my hospital treatments, my neighbours funeral ( Bless him ), and just got over Conjunctivitis, so as soon as my hands start to ease I can do more crafting. Yaaaaaaaay!!

Meanwhile, It has taken me several weeks to make a card for my niece's first birthday on 16th April, but I thought I'd share it with you before I seal it in its envelope.

Sophie's favourite toy is her Molly Mouse, so with that in mind I made this pop up card

The mice on the front were stamped onto patterned papers for their clothes and coloured in with pencils and Promarkers. The butterflies are stamped onto tracing paper and coloured with Promarkers and stuck down so their wings are dimensional. The grass was sponged and tufts of grass drawn with SU Write markers. I made the bunting out of scraps of card with letters printed from a CD.                                                                                         Inside, the little mouse in the blue blazer has his paws outstretched to catch the falling mouse in the red coat ( he is attached to acetate so he moves when the card is knocked ), and the little mouse in the corner is signing a card.

Here is a side view of the mouse on the acetate.

I hope she will like it?

Recipe :
Card =  Daffodil Delight and white card from my stash
Stamps = Crafter's Companion, and Daisy and Dandelion
Inks = SU Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, and Basic Black. Promarkers, pencils, and SU Write markers
Extras = Acetate and tracing paper

Tomorrow we're off to my sisters for an egg hunt so I hope the rain stops long enough for us to find them all!!

I am hoping to get some more projects made very soon, so please call back again if you can.

Happy Easter to you all, and what ever your plans I hope the weather is good, and don't eat too much chocolate !!!!!! ( I cant believe I've just said that!!  You can never have too much!! )
