I'm so sorry that I've been AWOL again, but there's too many excuses to tell you, so I'll not bore you with the grizzly details.
I must say thanks to the DT at Simply Stampin as I was in their Top 3 on 1st June, Yaaaay me!!
Today, I've been spoilt by my friend Pat, as it's my birthday tomorrow, but I had to rush home early to finish the card I'm about to show you. I made it for my Step Dad, Dave , who is with Mum on a barge holiday on the Birmingham Canals, and tomorrow I'm meeting up with them to spend my day cruising the waterways...............well, if it's good enough for The Queen!!
I will be entering the card into these challenges;
CAS-ual Fridays where they want us to use acetate or vellum,
Southern girls where they want Things with Wings
Here's my card
First, I stamped the Kingfisher and grasses onto some acetate and coloured him with SU Write Markers and a white gel pen. ( The big white blob under his beak is my camera flash reflecting off the acetate, sorry! ) Next, I stamped the barge onto textured card and masked it with a Post It, and then brayered the water over it in between 2 pieces of torn paper, and then I sponged the grass banks. I added some tufts of grass and a tree in the background, and sponged a sky over a scalloped circle to make some clouds.
An aperture was then cut in a white card and the acetate stuck behind it. The boat scene was then added to the back of the acetate but sandwiched on 3D pads to add some dimension. I've tried to show this in the photo, but it was no easy task, so I hope you get the gist?. A blue frame was added around the aperture and the sentiment stamped across the bottom to finish it off. I hope Dave likes it?
Recipe :
Card = Basful Blue and White CB and textured White card from MS
Inks = Soft Suede, Always Artichoke, Sahara Sand, Bermuda Bay, Island Indigo, Certainly Celery, Poppy Parade, Bashful Blue, Dusty Durango, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, and Crushed Curry
Stamps = Clarity, SU Pocket Silhouettes, and Papermania and Verve sentiments
Tools = Big Shot, Nestabilities and Brayer
Extras = White gel pen, and 3D pads
There is still time to have a chance to win my candy, so click on my candy photo to see what to do.
Thanks for dropping by, and I hope to be back after my canal trip, so see you then....I hope!!
Happy birthday!!
