Dove of Peace

It's Friday the 13th so I've stayed at home today, and made a card for three challenges

The sketch is from Mojo Monday,

The colours are from
their July 2013 challenge at
 52Christmas Throwdown,

and Addicted to Stamps have this Christmas photo for inspiration

Here's my card

It's difficult to see in the photo, but the dove is heat embossed with Ivory Pearl powder,( the camera flash made the tips of the wings look more white than the body, but it's the same opalescence all over ) and the sprig of olive was made with a punch and passed through two slots in the card above and below the beak.

Supplies :
All are Stampin' Up unless stated otherwise
Card = Real Red, Choc Chip, Green and white base FMS
Stamps = Calm Christmas
Inks = Versamark and Real Red
Tools = Big Shot, Nestabilities, Swirl EF, Heat Gun, and Bird Punch
Extras = Ivory Pearl EP, 3D Pads, and Red Cord FMS

Sadly I've not been able to do any crafting lately, and I'm a little behind with my Christmas cards, so at least I've now got one to send!!

Wednesday's for me, are days spent with my niece Sophie, until her brother Nathan, comes home from school, and then we play on the computer, make things, or play games. This is a photo of Sophie ( and her baby Henry ) with the Elves at the garden centre. She is so excited about Christmas this year that we have had to go there for the last three Wednesdays so she can see the Christmas decorations, whisper to a 7' Santa statue, and hold the presents with the giant Elf. As I'm in hospital again this Wednesday, she will miss her garden centre fix, but I will make it up to her when I'm up and about again.

I hope you are enjoying all the madness of the Christmas preparations wherever you are, and I will try to be back again before the big day.

Tea For Two

My card today is for The Male Room DT where our theme this week is
FOOD AND DRINK

 and I will also be entering it into two challenges.

The sketch comes from CAS Colours and Sketches

and these colours are from
Fab Friday

My Step Dad Dave is a Tea-aholic, and likes his very strong and in a china mug, every hour, on the hour!! so I thought of him when making this card. I stamped the tea cup and fussy cut it out before placing it on pads on a Nestie, with the sentiment going in the top like a tea bag. I added a strip of embossed red card with swirls like steam, and some tape FMS which matched the colours perfectly.

Supplies :
All are Stampin' Up unless stated otherwise
Card = Whisper White, Real Red, and white base FMS
Stamps = Tea Shoppe
Inks = Coastal Cabana, Real Red, and Gumball Green
Tools = Big Shot, Nestabilities, and Swirl EF
Extras = 3D Pads, and Floral Tape FMS

I am struggling with a trapped nerve in my right wrist at the moment, so can not craft when the numbness and pins and needles are too bad to hold anything, but I cant let the MR DT down, so have taken all day to piece this together.

About six months ago, my friend had asked me to make her two Santa themed cards, and I've finally finished them. I made pop up cards with Santa stuck in the chimney with his legs dandling down, all watched by a Scotch Terrier, her favourite dog. I hope she likes them?

Can you believe that it's nearly Christmas? Just where has this year gone? I'm taking Sophie to see Santa tomorrow, so I hope to have some photos to show you soon. Enjoy your preparations, and I'll be back soon

Would you believe it, but another month has flown by, and I'm in hospital again for my treatment today, so I'll be snuggled up in bed for a few days to recover.Which is just as well as the weather forecast is for cold icy winds and possibly snow!! I love this time of year, don't you ?!!!

Remembrance Day

Today, this is my DT card for The Male Room with a theme of Remembrance,  and I'll also be entering it into three challenges

The sketch is from Clean and Simple,

the colours from Dynamic Duos,

and Addicted to Stamps  want to see something

CLEAN AND SIMPLE

Here it is

As the 11th November is Remembrance Day, and our theme is Remembrance, I've created a poppy out of red butterflies made with a punch, as my focal point.

Supplies :
All are Stampin' Up unless stated otherwise
Card = Real Red, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, and white base FMS
Stamps = Loving Thoughts and Fiskars
Inks = Black
Tools = Big Shot, Mosaic Madness EF, Butterfly Punch, Readicut Punch, and Fiskars Scissors
Extras = Ribbon and 3D Pads

What with half term and Halloween, I've been really busy with my niece and nephew. These are the pumpkins that we made, Sophie wanted a cat?, hence the straw whiskers!

 Here we are before the kids smashed the pinata, and we went off Trick and Treating. I'm the green faced witch (and by the way that's a false nose!), Nathan is a zombie skeleton, and Sophie is a witch with a cats face?

Here's a close up of the pinata.

I hope you all had as much fun as we did, but I have to say I'm glad it's only once a year, as the green face paint gets everywhere.

Anyway, today I'm going Christmas shopping with my Mum and Sophie, and we are going to take her to the big garden centre to see all the decorations.Thanks for dropping by, and I'll be back soon

Ugly Bug Ball

Today, this is my DT card for The Male Room, where our theme is NATURE
and I'll also be entering it in three challenges.

The sketch is from Clean and Simple,

the colours from CAS Colours and Sketches

and Addicted to CAS are looking for something TRANSPARENT

Here it is

This is what the card looks like without the acetate overlay that bares the Dragonfly, Bumblebee, and Ladybird. I didn't mind stamping all the insects, but when it came to the spider, it freaked me out! I hate them! Thank goodness it was only a small one.

Supplies :
All from Stampin' Up unless stated otherwise
Card = Whisper White, Early Espresso, and white base FMS
Stamps = Stippled Blossoms, Simply Sketched, and Inkadinkado Insects
Inks = Blushing Bride, Strawberry Slush, and Adirondack Espresso
Tools = Stamp-a-ma-jig,
Extras = Acetate

I had a terrible start to my day. I plugged my laptop in to see what challenges were out there, so I could prepare an idea, and pack the relevant supplies, as I was off to my friends for a crafting/coffee morning. After about five minutes, I realised that the TV and my alarm clock had gone off, so thought I had a power cut. Then, I saw that lights were on in my neighbours house, so I rang her (on my mobile, as the house phone was also out) and her house was fine. I made a mercy call to my Step Dad, who turned up an hour later. He discovered that the electrical fuse box kept tripping out, so we had to check every wall socket in the house. Sounds easy, but with me in the house plugging something in, I was then having to get to the top of the stairs to shout down to Dave in the garage, who would try the trip switch again. Eventually, we found that a wall socket had fallen off the wall that was hidden by my desk (it had never had a metal wall bracket set into the wall, and I've been here for almost 13 years!!). Then we found out that the garden pond pump had also fused ( what were the odds that this would blow at the exact minute that I plugged my laptop in!!!!! Anyway, with electric back on, I was in no mood to craft so didn't go out, but made this card later.

I'm in hospital again today for my treatment ( I cant believe how quickly four weeks pass by ), so I'll be resting for a couple of days. I hope you have a good week, and an even better weekend.

Bling Christmas

It's another wet and windy day here in Malvern, so this afternoon, I've stayed in and made a card for three challenges.

The sketch is from Try Stampin' on Tuesday,

the colours are from Color Throwdown,

and the theme of Christmas comes from
with added   BLING IT UP

This is my card. I'm sorry for the photo quality, but it's gone so dark that the light and camera flash are shining off the silver embossing

The script is a from a roller, where I have removed the rubber so I can stamp it flat. It's much easier with my Arthritis to do it this way than to try doing it on the roller. It was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with silver EP. The three baubles were made with Mosaic Madness stamps and punch, with the silver caps cut from embossed mosaics.The threads were hand drawn with Versamark and embossed in silver. The stamped sentiment and baubles were placed on 3D pads, and finished off with gems.

Supplies :
All are from Stampin' Up unless stated otherwise
Card = Whisper White, Calypso Coral, and white base FMS
Stamps = Jolly Jingles, Mosaic Madness, and Sassy Salutations
Inks = Versamark, Calypso Coral, Midnight Muse, and Pool Party
Tools = Fiskars Scissors, Mosaic Madness Punch, and Heat Gun
Extras = Silver EP, 3D Pads, and Gems

Thanks for dropping by, and I hope you have a great week whatever you are doing.

and lastly, Make My Monday want to see  TEXTURE

 This is it

The right hand side of my card is acetate with a heat embossed deer and blue stamped swirl in the corner

It's not easy to photograph, so I've taken a picture with some pale blue card behind it.

The central panel and large white triangle have been embossed, and the tree and stag have been double heat embossed with clear powder, fussy cut and placed on 3D pads. The finishing touches were the addition of gems on the tree and acetate swirls.

Thanks for dropping by
