Lovely as a tree at 60

Hello fellow crafters, hope you've all had a good weekend despite the rain.

I have finally finished all the cards that my sister had asked me to make, the last one being a 60th birthday card for Dave (our stepdad),which I have cunningly made so it fits in with this weeks mojo monday challenge. You would not believe how long this card took,as being Tuesday,I was at my friend Jacquelines house and more talking than crafting took place, AGAIN. By the way have you all seen her  Blog and Make on Monday challenge blog, they are well worth a visit.

Now, to business, I have turned the sketch on its side.
I've used SU Whisper White card as the base and also cut 2 strips 5 1/2" long on which I have stamped Lovely as a Tree in SU Green Galore,Certain Celery,Handsome Hunter, and Always Artichoke.I then cut 2 strips the same length of Wild Wasabi and stamped them with the single leaf and sprig of pine from LAAT, and the acorn from All Natural in the same inks as the WW panels. All four strips were then mounted on Garden Green card with the left hand ends rounded off (and the card as well). The rosette is cut with SB nestabilities from Wild Wasabi and WWhite and stamped with Woodware numbers and word in Handsome Hunter and Always Artichoke. Green ribbon from my stash made the rosette tails and border beneath it. The finishing touch were 2 gold star shaped brads in the completed panel on the right hand side of the card.  Hope you like it,

Now I just pray that Ali likes what I've made for her,and that Dave likes it when given to him.......oooh no pressure then!!!

I'm off to spend the day with Nathan tomorrow,he believes he is Spiderman at the moment and is running everywhere in his bright red costume. If I can get him to stand still long enough I'll try to get a photo to share with you............which reminds me I've still to get one of myself for my blog!!!

Anyway, thanks for dropping by and I'll hope to see you again soon. Bev.x

  1. I'm sure they'll be pleased with this great card Bev. I smiled when I read that when you get together with Jacqueline there's more chatting than crafting - I think a lot of us might know what you mean! Vx
