Masculine Monochrome card

Today, I'm baby sitting, and while Sophie is having a little snooze, I've finished my card I started yesterday at Jacqueline's house. I've made it for my friends sons birthday, and I'm going to enter it in two challenges.

The first is Dynamic Duos with these colours, plus the dessert option of a masculine theme.

The second is Make My Monday with a theme of

            FANCY FOLDS

This is it, it's a swing card

I made the base with White card, and matted it with a dark grey before another matt of White. Using Black I stamped the bicycle and sentiment on the centre panel, the birds on the small segments, and the floral borders on the sides. The last things were the two butterflies in grey and white.

Supplies :
Card = Naturals White, and dark grey card FMS
Stamps = Clarity Bicycle, Bliss, Vintage Vogue, and Verve
Inks = Black
Tools = Stamp-a-ma-jig, and Elegant Butterfly punch
Extras = Hand cut small Butterfly

Thank you to all of you who have sent me kind wishes for poor little Henry, I will pass them on to my Sister.

I'd better go as I can hear little footsteps upstairs, bye for now

Just For You Mum

My card today is for three challenges.

First one is Clean and Simple with this sketch

secondly is The Paper Players where we could chose any line of three

and lastly, Dynamic Duos where we had a choice of colour to partner Primrose Petals.

Here's my card

For the DDuos, I chose green to go with my pink, and for PPlayers, the line of Ribbon, Mother's Day, and Pink and Green. ( My Primrose Write Marker looks almost burgandy in the camera flash, but it matches some ribbon I have perfectly ! )
I randomly stamped the flourish in pink and green over some white card, and layered it on some green card, and then a white base. A strip of the same green was embossed with dots and wrapped in a pink ribbon before being laid down.
The sentiment and flower were stamped onto white card cut with a label Nestie, and added on 3D pads. The finishing touches were the bow and butterfly on the label.

Supplies :
Card = Lucky Limeade, Naturals White, and base FMS
Stamps = Flowering Flourishes, Just Believe and Bliss
Inks = Primrose Petals, Lucky Limeade and Black
Tools = Big Shot, Nestabilities, Stamp-a-ma-jig, and Dots EF
Extras = Ribbon and 3D pads

I hope that I will have some spare time in the coming days to catch up on my blog hopping so I can see your lovely creations. Thanks for looking, and hope you can call again soon

Lavender Friends

My Clean and Simple card today is for two challenges

The first is CAS Colours and Sketches with this layout,

and Play Date Cafe with the colours
LAVENDER, BUTTERCREAM
and VANILLA

Here's my card

I started by cutting three lilac card Nestie scallop circles in the Big Shot and topping them with some off white circles. With Wisteria, on one, I stamped the centre of a filigree pattern, and on another one a flower. With Apricot, I stamped the "Friends F" on the last circle. The circles were then stuck on a white base with 3D pads for dimension, and the sentiment stamped under the first. I then stamped the small flower and two butterflies on white card, cut them out, and added them in place. The butterflies bodies are pearl gems, and a yellow gem was put in the centre of the small flower.

Supplies :
Card = Naturals White, Lilac and White base FMS
Stamps = Bliss, Vintage Vogue and Verve
Inks = Wisteria Wonder and Apricot Appeal
Tools = Big Shot, and Nestabilities
Extras = 3D pads, Pearls and Gem

I hope you've all had a great Easter, and have enjoyed the dry, but cold, days. Yesterday, we had an Egg Hunt at my Sister's for Sophie and Nathan. We hid the eggs, found the eggs, hid them, found them, hid them etc.......... eventually, when icicles were forming on our noses, we managed to talk the kids inside with the promise of eating all the chocolate they wanted, just so us adults could defrost with a nice tea and coffee!!.
As it is half term for our area, I'll be doing a lot of Auntie and child stuff this week, and of course that involves being the odd Super Hero or two!!!

Back soon

Berry Bliss

Well here goes, the start of another week and another post. I hope you've all had a good weekend and were pampered and treated like a Queen on Mothers Day.

Today, I will be entering my card in for three challenges,

The colours are from Pals Paper Arts,

the sketch from Paper Craft Crew,

and Make My Monday are looking for

                  HEAT EMBOSSING

Here is my card

I randomly stamped the flower and word onto cream card in the three colours, then wrapped a ribbon around one end, and stuck this onto a cream card on which I'd coloured the border of Razzelberry. The flourish was stamped in ink, before I stamped over it with Versamark ( Using the Stamp-a-ma-jig of course!) and heat embossed it with clear powder.

Here is a closer view of the shiny embossing.

This flourish was cut with a Nestabilitie in the Big Shot and placed on the card on 3D pads. For the finishing touches I added a bow, the sentiment, and the butterfly which had also been heat embossed.

Supplies :
Card = Cream card and base FMS
Stamps = Bliss, and Verve sentiment
Inks = Rich Razzelberry, Calypso Coral, and Crumb Cake
Tools = Big Shot, Nestabilities, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Heat Gun
Extras = Clear EP, 3D pads, and ribbon

I had an unusual visitor waiting for me on my doorstep over the weekend, have a look

We've looked him up on the Internet and discovered that he's a common lizard found all over the Midlands and south of the UK. I just thank my lucky stars that he wasn't a tarantula, because if he had been I'd still be sat in the car!!! As it is, I'm not afraid of lizards, and I had to pick him up to move him, as I had triggered my security light, and the bright beam scared him stiff, literally. In case you think I'm being sexist, he is a male as their markings and colour are slightly different to the female. I'm going to call him Dusty, as I've put him in a cavity underneath my dustbin.

OK, enough of the Crazy Lady talk. Thanks for dropping by and hope to see you again soon

Cajun Daisy

Hi All! I'm back in the land of the living after my hospital treatment, although I still don't feel 100%.

This evening I've made a card that I'm going to enter into two challenges.

The first is Mojo Monday where they have this sketch,

and the second is Color Throwdown where they have this colour palette

Here is my card

I inked the SU stamp with my Write markers and stamped it onto card which was then cut with a Nestabilities die in the Big Shot. I did the same with the sentiment, and layered these onto scalloped circles. The background  was embossed with dots, and wrapped with a ribbon before the circles were placed slightly off centre on top ( the smaller one on 3D pads). Two leaves were added before the sponged daisies were layered together, and topped with the butterfly.
( As I don't have any Soft Suede or Lucky Limeade card, I used my SU markers to colour white card shapes)

Recipe :
Card = Marina Mist, Very Vanilla, Whisper White ( coloured with markers), tan and card base FMS
Stamps = Just Believe and Bliss
Inks = Soft Suede, Lucky Limeade, Marina Mist, Basic Black, and Cajun Craze
Tools = Big Shot, SB Nestabilities and Shapeabilities, Cuttlebug dots embossing folder
Extras = Ribbon and 3D pads

Tomorrow is the last day of the school break, so my last day of entertaining my Niece and Nephew. I hope to be able to get back to blogging after that, so I'm sorry that I haven't had any time to blog hop and leave any comments, but I will try to catch up over the weekend.

Whatever you are doing, I hope you have fun and don't get too much snow, as I hear there's more on the way.

Keep warm, and I'll be back soon

Bling Baubles

Here we are at the start of another week, and another week closer to Christmas! Where is the time going??

Today's card is for the Less is More Challenge where the subject is

This is my card

First I inked up the flourish with Versamark and then I masked off the edges to make a round shape, before stamping onto a white card.

I  then heat embossed the shape with gold powder ( sorry but my photo is not the best to show the gold), and repeated the process twice more ( placing the stamp by using the Stamp-a-ma-jig ). The sentiment was stamped in red across the top, and gold wiggly lines drawn to hang the baubles, and the finishing touches were the "bling gems".

I was pleased with my efforts until I drew the lines to hang the baubles, and then I realised that the right hand one is a little too close to the top one, but I couldn't do anything to disguise it, so just went with it.

Recipe: Card = from my stash
Stamps = Bliss and Dovecraft
Inks = Versamark and Real Red
Tools = Heat Gun and Stamp-a-ma-jig
Extras = Gold embossing powder, Gold Pilot marker, and gems

Thanks for dropping by, and please call again if you can.

Simple Chocolate Bliss

It's scorchio again today and my back garden has turned yellow with all the fallen leaves everywhere, and no sooner do you sweep them up, more replace them. Needless to say, I gave up and sat down to catch up on some crafting.

Over at the Clean and Simple Challenge they had this sketch, and also at the Stampin Royalty challenge#91 they are asking for K.I.S.S ( Keep It Simple Sweetie )

So, here is the simple card I'll be entering into both challenges

I started with a cream card and layered it with some brown card. I then added a strip of paler brown card across the top, and with the same card cut it with a decorative punch. I then stamped the filigree image onto some cream card in dark brown ink, and added  the punched card to the bottom and stuck it in the center, To finish it the sentiment was stamped on cream card mounted onto brown card and stuck down on 3D pads for some dimension.

Recipe : Card = So Saffron, Chocolate Chip, pale brown and cream card stock from my stash
Stamps = Bliss and Verve
Ink = Chocolate Chip
Tools = Martha Stewart Border Punch and 3D pads

I'm not looking forward to tomorrow as I have a nurse coming to show me how to inject my new medication. I have a phobia about needles, and although I have blood taken regularly and have IV hospital treatments, someone else is in control and I don't have to look!!! I keep telling myself that it'll be OK, but I'm still dreading it. I'll let you know if I manage to do it?!

Well that's all folks!, and I hope to have time to craft some more.

Thanks for dropping by today, and I hope you can return soon.

Just Believe it's Mojo Monday

Hi everyone, What a funny old day it is today!!!  One minute it's blue sky and sun, and the next it's grey sky and rain??, it cant make up its mind what it wants to do ( a bit like me with challenges?)

Anyway, this weather gave me an idea as I sat and tried to make a card with an hour to myself in the middle of a chaotic day.

I thought I'd have a go at the Mojo Monday Challenge #205 before the weekend turns into Monday again!! Their sketch looks like this

and my card looks like this, what do you think?

I started with a white card and layered it with some yellow card that had been roughened around the edges with my scissors. I then stamped the flourish from the Bliss set in black on some grey card and put it in my BS with a labels die ( I just had to use it, I'm sorry!). While the beast was out, I cut another label in black, yellow, white, and a yellow butterfly. I then stamped the flowers and grass  from Just Believe on some white card. The grey and black labels ( with added stitches drawn in a white gel pen ) were tucked under the white panel and a grey ribbon was wrapped around it and a knot added. The Just Believe sentiment was stamped in black on the white label and sponged around the edges, and then it was placed on the yellow label which was then stuck with 3D pads to give some dimension. The finishing touch was the butterfly that also had been sponged and yellow gems added along the body.

Recipe : Card = SU Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Basic Black, and grey from my stash
Stamps = Just Believe and Bliss
Inks = Sahara Sand, Daffodil Delight, and Basic Black
Tools = Big Shot, SB Nestabilities labels and Shapeabilities butterfly
Extras = white gel pen, 3D pads, yellow gems, and grey ribbon from my stash

I've seen this colour combo used by others crafters, but never felt brave enough to try it myself until now, and I really love the result. I hope you like it too.

We're all off to Gloucester tomorrow to see the Ship regatta, so no crafting for me ( nor the Grand Prix, but thankfully I've got Sky Plus! Phew! ) but I hope to be back in a day or so.

Thanks for dropping by

Happy Birthday Owl

Hello, thanks for dropping by, I hope you like what you see.

Today at our Craft Club workshop we made a cute Owl Pop Up card, and surprisingly I managed to finish the card, all but the greetings which I've added this evening.

Isn't it cute!!

I started with a white square card from my stash and added a matt of SU Green Galore. The Owl was made with Jacqueline's SU Owl Punch in Chocolate Chip, with his wings made from a scallop circle cut in half ( Using a BS and nestabilities ), and his feathery chest was the stamped flourish from the SU Bliss set in CChip on Very Vanilla. The bunting, hat, and googly eyes were supplied by Jacqueline, and I added the occasional heart on the bunting flags. The Woodware sentiment was stamped in CChip and the bunting line drawn in a Letraset fine black pen.

The inside was lined with some more GGalore that had had 3 slits cut into the fold that were then folded in the other way to create somewhere for the owls to be stuck to. ( It's difficult to explain so I hope the photo speaks for itself?)

I decorated the middle owl with eyelids and lashes, a pink tummy, and placed a tiara on her head.  ( This was made with a MS punch.)                                                                 Well we cant let the men have all the fun can we????                                                                                  The bunting was continued inside the card and again the sentiment was added in CChip
I hope you like the owls as much as I do-oo-oo-oo!!                                                                                                                                                       I'm sorry, I just couldn't stop myself!
On that note I'd better sign off.

Tomorrow I'm spending the day at my sister's, so no doubt there will be some more emergencies and baddies for us Super Hero's ( Nathan and I ) to sort out, but if I'm not too tired from saving the world I may have time to make something else on Thursday.

See you again soon I hope.

Just Believe

It's sunny outside this afternoon, but I'm sat at my table playing with my craft stuff ( I am supposed to be tidying it up!!)

Over at Pals Paper Arts there is a colour challenge this week. PPA105

I wanted to take part, but only had one of the three colours, so I hope it's OK with their DT. I had the Daffodil Delight, but had to substitute the others with Tempting Turquoise and Certainly Celery.

I started with a white card from my stash and roughed up the edges with my scissors before stamping the leaf silhouette from Just Believe in DDelight along the bottom. I then stamped the floral plant and grass in CCelery and TTurquoise onto an oblong of Whisper White card and again roughed the edges. This was then layered onto some TTurquoise that had been treated the same way. I wrapped some ribbon from my stash around this panel and tied a bow on the right hand side. The sentiment frame was stamped onto WWhite and the Stamp-a-ma-jig used to place the words, it was then cut out before being layered on some TTurquosie with 3D pads and the edges roughed up. The butterfly is from the Bliss stamp set and was stamped in DDelight before being cut out and stuck down with some tape along its body so its wings were dimensional.

I'm pleased with the result, and hope you like it too.

Recipe : Card = SU WWhite, TTurquoise, and card stock from my stash
Inks = DDelight, CCelery, and TTurquosie
Stamps =  SU Just Believe and Bliss
Extras = Ribbon and 3D pads from my stash

Thanks for dropping by, and thank you for leaving any comments if you've had the time.

Hope to be back soon

Simply Stampin' Garden Silhouettes

Hello thanks for dropping by

For this Simply Stampin Challenge I put the Growing Green away and got out my Garden Silhouettes.

First I stamped the blossom branch in Certainly Celery and Melon Mambo onto Whisper White and cut it out.I then used a MS punch on some Pink Passion for the frill and cut 2 strips of CCelery and put them through the BS in a Budding Vine embossing folder before crossing them over at right angles to each other, and stuck down on the 6" square WWhite card. Some WWhite and PPassion were also put in the BS with a labels nestabilitie to form a flower vase for the blossom branch. The Bliss butterfly was stamped in MMambo and cut out and stuck in 3D so it is hovering over the flowers. The finishing touch is the Woodware sentiment stamped in MMambo.

What do you think? I've turned to one of my favourite colour combo's of green and pink.

Well that's it for tonight,I'll be back tomorrow when I become a craft couch potato infront of the Grand Prix ( did I mention I'm a fan??!!!???)

Hope to see you again, and thank you if you decide to leave me your comments.

40th Birthday cards

Well what a hectic week I've had. My sister, Ali, was 40 on Saturday and I'd been helping Mum get things sorted for a BBQ and get together. Why is it that there never seems to be enough spare time for when you want to put your feet up and craft. I had managed to do these cards for her though ( the tri shutter card bares some of Ali's most favourite things and colours so it may seem muddled to you). I hope she likes them.

I used some SU Yo Yo Yellow as the card base, layered with Green Galore, and Whisper White.I then stamped onto the front, back, and center panels, the flourish from the Bliss set with the edges masked off,and a little corner stamp(which I think is Woodware ) in Chocolate Chip. The little pony is a Clarity stamp, and the running dogs are on the SU Tailgating roller (that I've undone from the roller itself) and coloured with Watercolour pencils. The gooey chocolate cake and pile of presents are from SU Happy Moments and coloured with Pro markers. The sentiment and numbers are Woodware. I had added a yellow butterfly to the front after the photo was taken.

This card is for Mum to give her,and there is no mention of her age as she requested.

I started with a cream card from my stash and rounded the corners. I then ran some Whisper White through the BS with a large label die and layered that on some Lavender Lace. Some Green Galore was used in the BS with a Marianne vine die to climb up the side and along the bottom of the label. The flowers were made with LLace (petals sponged with Orchid Opulence) and Pretty In Pink(sponged with Regal Rose) cut in BS with Crealies die. All finished with the H from Strength and Hope, and sentiment from Woodware stamped in Melon Mambo, and gems in the flower centers.

Hopefully I can get some crafting done this week as I've missed entering all the challenges, please keep your fingers crossed for me,and hope to be back soon.

Bliss Just For You

Hello and thanks for dropping by.

Another quick blog today due to the tennis, but I'll be crafting while watching in case Nadal takes his shirt off again ( I didn't know there were that many muscles in the human body!!!)

My card today is for the Mojo Monday challenge and again I've used one of my favourite SU sets, Bliss. I just adore the flourish in this set and here I've masked off the sides to make the image fit nicely into the center of the label.

The materials used are : SU Apricot Appeal, Ruby Red, Real Red card stock, and cream card from my stash.
Ink : SU Dusty Durango
Stamps : SU Bliss and Woodware sentiment
Others : Patterned paper, cream ribbon, heart brad from stash.
Tools : Big Shot, label dies, and square pendant die

Thanks for looking and hope to see you again soon.

Enjoy the tennis as I know I will. Bev.x
