Pastel Butterfly

Today, I've combined three challenges to make my card

The sketch is from Mojo Monday,

colours from Color Throwdown,

and theme of Birthday from
CAS-ual Fridays

This is my card

I masked 4 squares with Post Its and sponged them with green, yellow, and pink on white card, and then stamped the butterfly in black across them. This was then matted on some pink card which was placed on a white card base above some yellow card that had been embossed with dots. A stamped sentiment and pink ribbon and bow were added as the finishing touches.

Grape Vines

Today my card is for two challenges.

The first is Retro Sketches with this sketch,

and second, are these juicy colours from

Stampin' Royalty

   

This is my card

                                                         

I decided to rotate the sketch 180*, and then I stamped the vines in yellow and green on some white card, masked them with Post Its, and stamped the bunch of grapes twice so that some of the bunches are paler in colour to give some depth to the scene. This was then die cut in the Big Shot and layered with yellow, blue and green (embossed) cards. The sentiment "Good things are worth the wait" was added, and a bunch of grapes and one leaf were placed on 3D pads. A yellow ribbon and bow finished it off.

Years ago, I bought some grape and vine unmounted stamps from a well known (and one of my favourite shops) auction web site, and I've found out today that they could possibly be from Stampin' Up? (Definitely Decorative). As my regular followers will know I am a great fan of this brand so just had to give them an airing. What do you think?

Some good news now, Little Henry is out of hospital! Phew, it's such a relief. Hopefully, Cassy can now relax a little and try to get him in some sort of a routine at home. No doubt when she's ready, we will go and see her and catch up on some cuddles.

My hands are very shaky this afternoon as I had my hospital treatment yesterday, but I cant rest so I thought I'd have a quick go at a card. Just as I stuck down my last panel in the centre of the other two, I smudged the greeting of "Home Sweet Home" at the top. AAAAHHHH!!!!!! To cover it, I made it into a plaque with a Nestie Label so you would never have known ( if I hadn't said!?!  hopefully). The three panels are raised on 3D pads for some dimension.

One Layer Wonder

Yaaaay! I've just seen that I came Top 3 again at one of my favourite challenges, Make My Monday, with my Monochrome card, Thanks so Much to their DT. 

My card today is for two challenges, firstly Make My Monday who want a

Here is my card

A One Layer card always throws me for a while, but once I decide on the stamp set I want to use, the rest just seems to follow. I started by stamping the central flower, and then covering it with a Post It note, and stamping the next flowers to the side so they looked like they were behind it. I added some stamped leaves and sponged a background through a Nestie aperture in some scrap paper that I cut in the Big Shot, and finished with a sentiment. 

The words are from Verve Stamps and were my Prize from the Mojo Monday

On the Run!

Today's card was definitely a challenge for me, and I think I've seriously lost the plot!!!???


I started with the sketch from a new blog I've discovered over at  Paper craft Crew,

then the yummy doughnut

Putting the two together I made this mad dog card

I know what you're thinking?................DOGS?, PINKS and ORANGES???  Well, let me try to explain my madness. The sketch made me think of dissecting one continuous scene, so so far so good. ( The stamp actually comes on a roller, but with my Arthritis I struggle to get the roller in a straight line, so I've peeled the rubber off the roller and added some EZ-Mount onto the back. I then use a ruler as a stamp block, and it's much easier to handle ). Then, when I choose my four colours and tested them on cream card instead of white, and using an Aqua painter to spread the ink, they didn't look so bright?

Anyway, I'm sure some girly girls out there have got a blush pink Poodle or Dachshund. (The fluffy bits on the poodle were coloured directly with the Write Marker so the hue is more intense ). Once the scene was coloured I cut it into five squares and layered them onto squares of cream card that had had the edges coloured with orange. The first square is flat on the card base, and the others are raised on 3D pads. The sentiment was added using the Stamp-a-ma-jig and Post It Notes so it could be stamped in a wavy line instead of a three lined block.

Baby Bears

Hi Everyone, for today's card, I've fallen slightly off the SU waggon and used some bear stamps that I had forgotten about until I found them stuffed in a drawer while tidying up my study a few weeks ago.

Anyway, I will be entering it into two challenges,


 The first is Try Stampin' on Tuesday where they have this sketch,

and,  Friday Mash Up where they want a project for a Baby, and/ or, use the colours from the photo

 ( Real Red, So Saffron, Pool Party, and Neutral )




I've mixed all three to make this card

I first stamped the bears ( named Bubble and Squeak ) onto white card with Black Archival ink, and coloured them with a brown SU Write Marker, spreading the ink with an Aqua painter. The present holding bear stamp is actually holding up a flower, but I stamped a present first, masked it with a Post It, and then stamped the bear under it so it looks like it is supposed to have a gift in its paws. Once dry, these were layered onto red card, and then onto some Saffron card that was embossed with dots and stuck onto a white card base. The BABY letters and present were coloured using Write markers.

My Sister, Cassy, is due to have her first baby in April, so this card may come in handy ( if she doesn't see it on my blog that is! ). I will be an Aunt again for the third time, and I'm quite excited to find out whether it'll be a boy or girl!........Not long to go now Cass!!

Well I hope you've all had a good weekend, as mine was spent not far from the bathroom with an upset stomach ( hope that's not too much information? ). I am feeling slightly better today, but I'm just a bit tired.

Watch the Birdie!

This is my second card for today, and I'm putting it into the following challenges,

First is Stampin' Royalty with this sketch,

secondly, Color Throwdown with these

and lastly CAS-ual Fridays who want to see stamped backgrounds




This is what I made

I made the bird background by punching the shape out of some scrap card, and randomly sponging So Saffron through the bird shaped hole. I then inked up a swirly flourish ( with Crumb Cake ) and stamped this through the hole as well, and this left a filigree shaped bird design. The same flourish was stamped in pink and green onto white card, and again punched with the bird shape. I love doing this technique and really must use it more. The birds were placed on pink card over a branch coloured with a green Write Marker, topped with the wings that were placed on 3D pads. These toppers were then mounted onto cream card which had an embossed line down down each side, and pink scallop border peeping from underneath each edge.

Inks = Melon Mambo, So Saffron, Crumb Cake, Lucky Limeade, and Black

Friends card

Staying with the One Layer card, I've used the Simply Stampin challenge colours

and combined it with the Simplicity OLW #88 challenge, where GDT Heather Telford wants a 2" x 2" square design.

This is what I did

The front card is the one for the challenge, but I made a cream one while I was at it. The 2" x 2" square was masked with Post Its, and then I stamped the F inside with Versamark and heat embossed it with white powder. I sponged over this with the 3 colours so that the letter jumped out, and then the Post Its were removed.

Recipe :

Stamps = Vintage Vogue

Inks = Regal Rose, Real Red, Island Indigo, and Versamark

Extras = Post Its and White embossing powder

Bird in the Blossom

Today my card is for the  CAS-ual Fridays challenge where they want to see a CAS project with  Flowers or Trees


I've combined the 2 for my card and made a blossom branch of a tree. Here's my entry

After stamping the bird, I masked her with a Post It and stamped the blossom branch under and behind her. I used pale pastel Spring colours, but my camera doesn't do them justice, so I hope you can see her OK.

Three Greens

Hello all, hope you're not feeling too sick after all your Easter eggs!!! I'm saving my egg for a rainy day..............which as it happens is today.Yaaaaaaaaay!!

Today, I've made a card for the Less is More challenge where Chrissie and Mandie want to see a project using     THREE SHADES of GREEN

I made this Pear Spotlight card, what do you think?

Choosing 3 greens was harder than I first thought as I have so many SU favourites, but in the end I decided on the ones that made the most of the coloured spotlight area. Using dark green I stamped the pears and leaves using the masking technique onto some white card, and then put it through the Big Shot with a label, and circle nestabilitie to cut the centre of the design out. I then used another green to colour all the pears in, but did a second coat of the two foreground pears to make them slightly darker ( so that's two greens), and then lastly, I coloured the leaf, the larger circle of card, and the larger label to mat and layer the design on. This was then placed on 3D pads onto a card stamped with the darker green sentiment.

Card = White card stock from my stash

Stamps = All Natural and Basic Phrases

Inks = Always Artichoke, Certainly Celery, and Lucky Limeade Write markers

Tools = Stamp-a-ma-jig, Post Its, Big Shot and Labels and circle nestabilities
