Razzleberry Daisies

My card today is for two challenges.

The sketch is from Paper Craft Crew,

and the colours are from  CAS Colours and Sketches

Here is my card

I first made the labels in the Big Shot, and stamped the daisies in Razzleberry, and without re inking the stamp, I stamped them a second time so they were paler to give some depth. I then sponged the label with blue for the sky ( not very obvious in the photo, sorry ). The butterfly was made by stamping a flourish on white card and the shape cut with a punch, and then this was placed on top of a Pink one which was set slightly in front to give the wings some definition. The finishing touches were the pink gems for the butterfly's body and flower centres.

Supplies :
Card = Rich Razzlebrry, Pool Party, Naturals White, Pink and White base FMS
Stamps = Upsy Daisy, Always Elegant, and Cute Companions
Inks = Rich Razzleberry, Primrose Petals, and Pool Party
Tools = Big Shot, Nestabilities, Shapeabilities, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Elegant Butterfly Punch, and Readicut Flower Punch
Extras = 3D pads and Gems

Sorry that I've not had time for much blog hopping this week, but I will try to catch up over the coming days.

Yellow Roses of Hope

Today my card is for my Sister Cassy whose 2 week old baby, Henry, is seriously ill in hospital. Yellow roses symbolise hope, joy, and caring, so convey everything I want to say to her in a card. I will also be entering it into two challenges.

First is Mojo Monday with this sketch,

and, Colour Throwdown with these colours

This is my card

I started by randomly stamping the yellow flowers and green leaves on the top half of a white base, and then covering the other half with embossed blue card. I then stamped a yellow rose, a rose bud, and two leaves on some white card and cut them out.
With the Big Shot I cut and layered the scallop circle and label, and embossed a strip of yellow card. These were stuck in place with 3D pads, and the flower and sentiment added. The finishing touches were the butterfly with gem body, blue flag, blue and yellow gems in opposing corners.

Supplies :
Card = Black, Daffodil Delight, Naturals White, Blue and White base FMS
Stamps = Stippled Blossoms, Baby Blossoms, and Cute Companions Sentiment
Inks = Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, and Brilliant Blue
Tools = Big Shot, Nestabilities, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Fancy Fan and Dots EF, and Elegant Butterfly Punch
Extras = 3D pads and gems

We are all really worried about little Henry, so I hope this bright card will bring some cheer to Cassy and Russell while he is in hospital having tests done. I've got my fingers and toes crossed that he will be allowed home very soon.

Thanks for dropping by today, and please send positive thoughts to Cass, Russell, and of course, Henry.

Marshmallow the Rabbit

The card I've made today is for my Niece Sophie's 2nd birthday on 16th May. She is obsessed by rabbits at the moment, as they have rescued a baby wild rabbit that a Buzzard dropped in their field as it was trying to carry it away.

I will also be entering these two challenges :

Mojo Monday with this sketch,

and ColourQ with these colours

Here's my card

The real rabbit stamp is actually holding a small daisy, but I masked it off and have added my own flower with a false paw. I used the Big Shot to emboss the yellow and coral cards before using the Nestie labels to cut the shapes. The rabbit was stamped in black Archival and coloured with an Aqua painter and SU Write Markers, and raised on 3D pads. The age tag was also added on 3D pads, and the finishing touch was the faux stitches around the edge of the card.

Supplies :
Card = Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Pretty in Pink, Naturals White, and white base FMS
Stamps = Daisy and Dandelion Marshmallow, Ornate Flowers, Papermania, and Woodware
Inks = Black Archival, Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, and Soft Suede
Tools = Big Shot, Nestabilities Labels and Scalloped circles, Fan EF, Dots EF, and Aqua Painter
Extras = 3D pads and gems

My hands are still swollen and painful after being injected at the hospital yesterday, but luckily most of the preparations I did on Thursday night, so it was just the photographing and posting that still needed to be finished tonight.

Hope to be able to get some crafting done tomorrow, so bye for now

Lavender Friends

My Clean and Simple card today is for two challenges

The first is CAS Colours and Sketches with this layout,

and Play Date Cafe with the colours
LAVENDER, BUTTERCREAM
and VANILLA

Here's my card

I started by cutting three lilac card Nestie scallop circles in the Big Shot and topping them with some off white circles. With Wisteria, on one, I stamped the centre of a filigree pattern, and on another one a flower. With Apricot, I stamped the "Friends F" on the last circle. The circles were then stuck on a white base with 3D pads for dimension, and the sentiment stamped under the first. I then stamped the small flower and two butterflies on white card, cut them out, and added them in place. The butterflies bodies are pearl gems, and a yellow gem was put in the centre of the small flower.

Supplies :
Card = Naturals White, Lilac and White base FMS
Stamps = Bliss, Vintage Vogue and Verve
Inks = Wisteria Wonder and Apricot Appeal
Tools = Big Shot, and Nestabilities
Extras = 3D pads, Pearls and Gem

I hope you've all had a great Easter, and have enjoyed the dry, but cold, days. Yesterday, we had an Egg Hunt at my Sister's for Sophie and Nathan. We hid the eggs, found the eggs, hid them, found them, hid them etc.......... eventually, when icicles were forming on our noses, we managed to talk the kids inside with the promise of eating all the chocolate they wanted, just so us adults could defrost with a nice tea and coffee!!.
As it is half term for our area, I'll be doing a lot of Auntie and child stuff this week, and of course that involves being the odd Super Hero or two!!!

Back soon

Blue Bird

This is my second post today, and my card is for two challenges.

Paper Craft Crew with this sketch,

and Stampin' Royalty  who have these colours

Here's my card

I started by colouring the edges of a white card base and a square of white card with a Suede Write Marker. I then randomly stamped a brown flower onto some blue card, before wrapping yellow ribbon around it and layering onto the base, finishing with a bow. I used a border punch along one edge of the second card and laid some more white card on top. Here I stamped the bird from one of my favourite sets without his main tail, masked his body with a Post It, and then stamped the elaborate feathers in its place. I stamped three yellow flowers which I grouped in the corner, with one on 3D pads. For the final touches I added the sentiment and gems.

Supplies :
Card = Pool Party, and White card and base FMS
Stamps = Whimsical Wings and Verve
Inks = Soft Suede, Pool Party and Summer Starfruit
Tools = Stamp-a-ma-jig  AND NO BIG SHOT!!!
Extras = Yellow ribbon and Blue gems (the closest to the challenge colours I had )

Tomorrow, I am dog sitting "Charlie" for my friend while she goes to a funeral, so I may not get chance to do any crafting till late in the day, but I will be back at my desk when I can.

Thanks for dropping by today, and Thank You for all your lovely comments

Flowery Friend

I thought that I'd missed both challenges that this card was going in for, but if I type quickly, I may just make Mojo Monday. ( I will say another quick "Thank You" to them for picking my Nature Walk card last week )

The sketch is from Mojo Monday

and the colours were from the Paper Players  (Sadly, I've missed the deadline!!)

Here is my card

I stamped the green borders on Vanilla card, and layered it on some pink card that had a flower punched border. This was then matted onto some brown card with a brown ribbon wrapped around it. The sentiment was stamped onto a nestabilities scalloped circle which was added on 3D pads. Three flowers were added in the opposing corner, and the finishing touches were the star, heart, and round coloured gems.

Supplies :
Card = Very Vanilla, Brown  and Pink cards FMS
Stamps = Vintage Vogue
Inks = Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, and Regal Rose
Tools = Big Shot and Nestabilities
Extras = Ribbon, Gems, and 3D pads

Gotta rush now so I can make it to the post!!

Hi Ho Silver

Today's card is a sad reminder of a close family friend that we lost last year, and with the anniversary of his passing coming up, I wanted his widow to know that she is not alone in her grief. It also fits into two challenges ( hopefully).

I thought that silver would be a better colour than a maudlin black card, and as  CAS-ual Fridays theme is Silver this is the first challenge I'll be entering.

The second is Clean and Simple with this sketch

It was difficult to photograph, but here is my card

I've used one of my favourite stamp sets, and stamped the flower in Versamark before heat embossing it in silver. I did the same to the sentiment and die cut this with a Nestabilitie in the Big shot, then layered it onto silver card and placed it on a square white card on 3D pads. It was finished off with some gems.

Thanks for looking, and I hope to be back soon.

CAS Flourishes

I've just had my latest delivery from SU, so I've used my new set for this project. I am going to put it into two challenges

The first is Pals Paper Arts with
 this sketch,

and the second is CAS Colours and Sketches where they want a CAS
card with these colours.

Here is my card

I coloured the stamps with my Write Markers and stamped them onto white card using the Stamp-a-ma-jig to position the designs in the right place. I put the yellow card in an embossing folder in the Big Shot, and cut the circles and labels at the same time. I added a few cut out flowers to the circle and base design, and finished with some gems that I'd coloured with my markers.

Recipe :
Card = All white card, with some coloured with orange and sand inks
Stamps = Flowering Flourishes and Verve
Inks = Sahara Sand, Summer Starfruit, Dusty Durango, and Basic Black
Tools = Big Shot, Nestabilities, Fancy Fan SU EF
Extras = Gems and 3D pads

A very excited Nathan phoned me last night to tell me that he had been to his friends Birthday party, where he had seen his very good friend Adelaide. She had thanked him for his Valentine card, and told him that she had taken it to school for "Show and Tell", and everybody had been very impressed with it.

He has well and truly been bitten with the crafting bug, as I had spent hours with him on Friday making his Mothers Day card. What do you think?

Thanks for dropping by today, and I hope you can call back soon.

Jane Austen

Hi All

In between my house work today, I have made a card for two challenges.

The first is Mojo Monday where we have this sketch,

and the second is Make My Monday who have the Jane Austen Novel, Persuasion, as inspiration

This is my card

I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't read this novel, so I took my inspiration from the pastel colours of the lady's dress and the blossom trees behind her. I inked up the blossom branch and stamped it on scrap paper before randomly stamping the card ( the pale pink flowers aren't very clear on my photo, sorry ). The blue and pink cards were embossed before layering on the card under the Nestabilities panel, on which I sponged the sky and grass before colouring the little girls dress with SU Write markers which I blended with an Aqua painter.

Recipe:
Card = Tempting Turquoise, Green Galore, Rich Razzelberry, Whisper White, Blushing Bride, and White card FMS
Stamps = Garden Silhouettes, Summer by the Sea and Woodware sentiment
Inks = Bashful Blue, Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit, Blushing Bride, Primrose Petals, Wisteria Wonder, and Basic Black
Tools = Big Shot, Butterfly Kisses and Cottage Floral embossing folders, Nestabilities and Shapeabilities, Aqua painter, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Martha Stewart border Punch
Extras = Gems

I'm off to see my 5year old nephew Nathan tomorrow, and he wants me to help him make a valentines card for his girl friend Adelaide, so I'll probably end up covered in ink again.

Last week, he had to go to school dressed as a Fairytale character and tell his class what the story was. As he believes in Elves, and has a special Elf named Boris ( it's me really !! ) watching over him and writing him letters, he decided to be the cobbler from the "Elves and the shoe maker". Nana made him an apron with a pocket for his tools, and I made him some shoes out of wallpaper with buttons on the toes. What do you think? Should Jimmy Choo be worried??

Anyway, must get something to eat now as it's 8.30pm and I'm starving.

Hope you can come back soon

CAS Thank You

Today it's not raining!!but I dont know for how long, as the sky looks a little grey. I've stayed in and had the time to make my folks a quick 'Thank you' card for my birthday pressies and barge trip.

I've combined three challenges, the first being this sketch from Clean and Simple

the second is Friday Mashup where they have these colours

and lastly, Less is More where they want to see SOMETHING SHINY

Here is my card

The fern sprig and the flower were stamped in ink, covered with Versamark, and heat embossed with several layers of clear powder ( the camera flash hasn't reflected as much as I'd hoped it would, sorry, but I hope you get the idea ). The small flower was raised on 3D pads in the centre of the larger flower which was also on 3D pads. The white card was cut in the BS with a label Nestabilities and the edges coloured with a RR Write marker, before being layered on deckle edged card squares. The sentiment was underlined with 3 gems to add that extra shine

Recipe :
Card = Rich Razzelberry, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, Whisper White, and white square card FMS
Stamps = Everything Eleanor, Growing Green, and Just Believe
Inks = Rich Razzelberry, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive (outline of fern), and Versamark
Tools = Big Shot, Nestabilities, and heat gun
Extras = Gems, 3D pads, and Clear Embossing Powder

I forgot to take my camera with me on the barge, but my Sister Cassy took some photos which she will email to me as soon as she gets a minute. Our boat was called "Kennelworth Castle", and we had great fun reading all the names of the other barges as the day went on. I read one that I pronounced as "Percy Phone", and commented what a strange name it was, only for everyone to be in hysterics as it should have been "Persephone" ( The daughter of Zeus, I think? ), how stupid did I feel ??.

Anyhow, thanks for dropping by today, and thank you to all those who left me birthday wishes.

I'll be back soon
