Cajun Daisy

Hi All! I'm back in the land of the living after my hospital treatment, although I still don't feel 100%.

This evening I've made a card that I'm going to enter into two challenges.

The first is Mojo Monday where they have this sketch,

and the second is Color Throwdown where they have this colour palette

Here is my card

I inked the SU stamp with my Write markers and stamped it onto card which was then cut with a Nestabilities die in the Big Shot. I did the same with the sentiment, and layered these onto scalloped circles. The background  was embossed with dots, and wrapped with a ribbon before the circles were placed slightly off centre on top ( the smaller one on 3D pads). Two leaves were added before the sponged daisies were layered together, and topped with the butterfly.
( As I don't have any Soft Suede or Lucky Limeade card, I used my SU markers to colour white card shapes)

Recipe :
Card = Marina Mist, Very Vanilla, Whisper White ( coloured with markers), tan and card base FMS
Stamps = Just Believe and Bliss
Inks = Soft Suede, Lucky Limeade, Marina Mist, Basic Black, and Cajun Craze
Tools = Big Shot, SB Nestabilities and Shapeabilities, Cuttlebug dots embossing folder
Extras = Ribbon and 3D pads

Tomorrow is the last day of the school break, so my last day of entertaining my Niece and Nephew. I hope to be able to get back to blogging after that, so I'm sorry that I haven't had any time to blog hop and leave any comments, but I will try to catch up over the weekend.

Whatever you are doing, I hope you have fun and don't get too much snow, as I hear there's more on the way.

Keep warm, and I'll be back soon

Mellow Yellow

Yesterday was our craft club and we made a Spring Fold card which I will be entering into the Less is More challenge where the theme is Yellow

Here is my card

And here is a side view

Recipe  :
Card = So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, and Very Vanilla
Stamps = Fresh Vintage and Verve
Inks = Pear Pizzazz and Crushed Curry
Tools = Cuttlebug and die ( Jacqueline's ), and scoring tool, and bone folder
Extras = Cream and yellow ribbons

When I left Jacqueline's club yesterday afternoon, I had to drive down her country lane, which I do every Tuesday, however, this time I encountered a suicidal black and white cat.......now I am a dog lover and cant stand cats ( except Louis, Jacqueline's cat) but I would never hurt one, so being a softy I braked hard to allow the stupid creature to leap to safety. I was relieved to see it scamper away and was quite pleased with myself for avoiding it and I felt happy at doing a good deed..................then my mood seriously changed when I got home........as I opened my cars back door I was met by the entire contents of my craft bag lying across the back seat, a nightmare as you can imagine!!...........but then............AAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!, my bottle of apple and blackcurrant juice had spilt and covered everything from my bag, the rear foot well, and the back seat!!!!......all thanks to that darn cat!!!!

It has taken hours for the car to dry after I sponged everywhere with warm soapy water, and I wont go there to list what I've had to throw away!!

Anyway, my friend is back from Jamaica now, so my Mum Sitting duties are over and I've got some time to myself, and once my chores are done ( Yuk! ) I hope to do some crafting.

Thanks for dropping by today

Summer by the sea Anniversary

Hello again!

I've had time today to do another quick card, this time for the Clean and Simple challenge  (FTL 152) with this sketch as the base.

So, I started with some Clarity silk card stock and stamped the loving couple from SU Summer by the Sea in black Adirondack ink. I coloured them in roughly with Pro markers and layered them onto some Pacific Point card. I then drew a heart free hand on some Real Red card and put it through the BS in a Cuttlebug swirl embossing folder. I cut the heart in half and stuck the couple across the middle of it before layering it all on a white card from my stash that has had the corners rounded. It was finished off with a Basic Black Woodware sentiment stamped at the bottom of the heart.

What do you think?

Recipe : Card = SU Real Red, Pacific Point, Clarity Silk card, and white card stock from my stash
Ink =  Black Adirondack and SU Basic Black
Stamps = SU Summer by the Sea and Woodware sentiment
Tools = Big Shot, Cuttlebug embossing folder, and Pro markers

That's it for today, thanks for dropping by and I hope you can come again soon.

Neapolitan inspired

Well it's Scorchio again today,so I'm in my usual position in front of the TV watching Wimbledon, but in an attempt to keep cool I bravely ventured out to the garage to the freezer ( something I don't do very often  due to all the huge hairy spiders that live in there!!),where I spied my inspiration for the colours in  today's challenge over at Clean and Simple Stamping.

Neapolitan ice cream brown,pink,and cream.

I started with a vanilla card from my stash, and then used some SU Chocolate Chip card (which I passed through the BS in a Cuttlebug swirl embossing folder) and Apricot Appeal to make the central panel which was edged with a MS punched   border. My BS and dies again came into use to cut the two smaller flowers and six scalloped circles to make the chrysanthemum out of SU Pretty In Pink. The cream flower centers were punched in SU So Saffron, and topped with gems. The Fiskars sentiment was stamped in CChip.

Take a look, and please let me know what you think

Well that's me for today, tomorrow is coffee and crafting at Jacqueline's so I may have done a card, or I may not have had the time!!!!...............please pop back to see if I was successful.

Thanks for all your lovely comments over the last few weeks, I really do appreciate the time you fellow crafters take to voice your opinions on my work.

Enjoy the sun and the tennis if you can.
