Fathers Day

Today my card is for two challenges

The first is CAS Colours and Sketches with these colours,
and the second is a new Male Only challenge called The Male Room. Jacqueline who has started it is looking for a DT, so if you fancy a go, pop over to the Male Room and give it a try.

Here is my card

I decided on a Fathers Day easel card, and used my Aqua Painter to make the three colours into varying shades. The flowers were stamped separately from the wheelbarrow in Archival black, and then once coloured I slit the card following the top of the barrow.
Next I cut around the flowers and long green leaves so that the wasted coloured in card went into the slit, where it was stuck into place. It was then raised on 3D pads to add some dimension. It was finished with a sentiment, ribbon, and butterfly on the bottom part of the card.

Supplies :
Card = Whisper White, and white base FMS
Stamps = Flower Soft, and Papermania
Inks = Black Archival, Gumball Green, Primrose Petals, and Cajun Craze
Tools = Aqua Painter, Elegant and Bitty Butterfly Punches
Extras = 3D pads, Ribbon, and Gems

I'm suffering today with my joints as I over did things doing my garden yesterday, so I'm going to have to take things easy over the weekend to recover. I hope you enjoy it whatever you are doing.

Father's Day Tree

Hi everyone,as you can see I'm still here and have not been whisked off my feet by the TV man!! I've had a few busy days though, firstly my sister,Ali,brought Nathan and Sophie over for the day on Wednesday.Nat absolutely cracks me up, we decided to ware him out by taking Monty for a run about in 'the orchards' which are part of The Worcestershire Way,as they are beautiful and full of wildlife. Well there we were exploring and he found "Polar bear paw prints" in the dirt track, he was so excited as he had found some the last time we went up there ( we didn't have the heart to tell them they were dog paws!) .Anyway, after finding a big stick so he could protect us I asked him if he was sure it was a polar bear and not a grizzly bear, without hesitation he said " no Aunt Bev, it's a polar bear coz he's not sad and not grizzling!!", we just cracked up at his innocence.

Before I bore you all,I'd better talk crafting.I've made another Fathers Day card for the Pals Paper Arts challenge using just 3 colours. Here it is,and for a change there's no bright colours:

I've used 5"x5" SU Whisper White card base with a Cherry Cobbler central panel which is Versamark stamped with the acorn from All Natural (sadly not showing up very well in photo),top and bottom scallops in Night of Navy using MS punch, and central Whisper White square stamped in More Mustard is the oak tree from Lovely as a Tree, the corners are punched with Fiskars punch, and sentiment from Woodware.
Secondly, yesterday was again chaos, Mum got back from holiday, and my step sister Cassy ( a Doctor in Leicester) came back 2 days early from her 3 months secondment in Africa,so we had an impromptu family get together in Evesham ( at a pub of course!).
Today I have spent most of the morning mowing the lawns and weeding till I couldn't stand up any more with my RA. Once I'd recovered I did the challenge card above.

I hope I can get to spend some of the weekend crafting.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you can call back again soon. Bev.x

Fathers Day Bliss

I'm Back again for the second time in one day!!, (is it too much I'm asking myself?), anyway while sat glued to the brilliant Grand Prix yesterday ( sorry to keep on but it's another of my passions....all that Testosterone, men in tight suits, and fast cars......I cant get enough) I made this card for the Stamping411 #205 challenge. My sister,Ali, had asked me to make several Fathers Day cards for my nephew Nathan, and new niece Sophie to give to their Dad and Grandads so this is one of  them.I used SU Whisper white and Bashful blue card stock, and the Bliss set stamped in Bashful blue ink on labels made by my trusty Spellbinders nestabilities, and finished off with a Martha Stewart punch at the bottom. Why are male cards so difficult??

I love this stamp set as the flourish is so versatile......I'll try to put it away for awhile and use a different set for my next post, I promise.

Thank you for dropping by, and for all your lovely and encouraging comments left over my last posts.
I'll be back soon,Bev.x

Just Missed It

I have had a lot of opportunities to craft recently - so I have made quite a few cards. Unfortunately my friend Jacqueline has been away and I forgot how to up-load my photos! This card follows the sketch from last week's Simply Stampin' but I missed the deadline but please take a look anyway
This is a card for my Step-dad for Father's Day - it's got sunflowers on because he and my Nephew, Nathan are having a competition to see who can grow the biggest - sunflower that is!
The background card stock was stamped in Versamark ink with a stamp from the Greenhouse Garden set from Stampin' Up. I used my Nestabilities and Big Shot to cut the label and the borders were punched with a Martha Stewart punch.
I will get my entry in on time this week as I made it this morning over at Jacqueline's - she will have to help me up-load it though ........again! - Bev x.
