Baja Butterfly

Today I've had a lovely lie in, and slow start to the day. I'm making the most of it as the rest of the week will be hectic as usual, starting with an early morning drive tomorrow.

The card I've made today is for 2 challenges.

The first is The Paper Players with this CAS sketch,

and the second is Fab Friday where they have these lovely colours.

This is my card

Recipe :
Card = Baja Breeze, Wild Wisteria, Gumball Green, and white card FMS
Stamps = Just Believe
Inks = Wild Wisteria and Gumball Green
Tools = Big Shot, Nestabilities, Shapeabilities, Martha Stewart punch
Extras = 3D pads

Tomorrow I am driving my Mum to the hospital for some pre-op tests as she is having major surgery in a few weeks, and then I'm on baby sitting duties with my niece ( Sophie ). I'm sure a bit of shopping will take place while we're out, and then also a visit to our friend so she can see Sophie, before flying back home to meet Nathan from school. Hopefully, he will be too tired to concentrate to do any crafting, so I may have to play super heroes to keep him occupied till his parents get in.

I'll be back soon

Just for You

I've been very busy all day today again, hence another late night post, but better late than never.

My card is for three challenges,

the first is ColourQ where they had
these colours.

second is Try Stampin' on Tuesday with this sketch,

and thirdly Addicted to Stamps where we had to Make a Mark and use Marker pens in the design.

Here is my card

The flowers on the panel were coloured with SU Write markers on the rubber image before being stamped on white card. The ribbon design, sentiment and little flowers were done the same way. The cards were then
put through the Big Shot with the flower shaped Nestabilities, and I cut the ribbon by hand. The flower shaped topper was raised on 3D pads for some added dimension and interest.

Recipe :
Card = Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie,Whisper White, and white card FMS
Stamps = Fresh Vintage and Just Believe
Inks = Pink Passion and Blushing Bride
Tools = Big Shot and Nestabilities

I've got another busy day tomorrow, but I hope I can get some crafting done before dark falls. Please pop back then to see if I make it!!!

Jane Austen

Hi All

In between my house work today, I have made a card for two challenges.

The first is Mojo Monday where we have this sketch,

and the second is Make My Monday who have the Jane Austen Novel, Persuasion, as inspiration

This is my card

I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't read this novel, so I took my inspiration from the pastel colours of the lady's dress and the blossom trees behind her. I inked up the blossom branch and stamped it on scrap paper before randomly stamping the card ( the pale pink flowers aren't very clear on my photo, sorry ). The blue and pink cards were embossed before layering on the card under the Nestabilities panel, on which I sponged the sky and grass before colouring the little girls dress with SU Write markers which I blended with an Aqua painter.

Recipe:
Card = Tempting Turquoise, Green Galore, Rich Razzelberry, Whisper White, Blushing Bride, and White card FMS
Stamps = Garden Silhouettes, Summer by the Sea and Woodware sentiment
Inks = Bashful Blue, Gumball Green, Summer Starfruit, Blushing Bride, Primrose Petals, Wisteria Wonder, and Basic Black
Tools = Big Shot, Butterfly Kisses and Cottage Floral embossing folders, Nestabilities and Shapeabilities, Aqua painter, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Martha Stewart border Punch
Extras = Gems

I'm off to see my 5year old nephew Nathan tomorrow, and he wants me to help him make a valentines card for his girl friend Adelaide, so I'll probably end up covered in ink again.

Last week, he had to go to school dressed as a Fairytale character and tell his class what the story was. As he believes in Elves, and has a special Elf named Boris ( it's me really !! ) watching over him and writing him letters, he decided to be the cobbler from the "Elves and the shoe maker". Nana made him an apron with a pocket for his tools, and I made him some shoes out of wallpaper with buttons on the toes. What do you think? Should Jimmy Choo be worried??

Anyway, must get something to eat now as it's 8.30pm and I'm starving.

Hope you can come back soon

Red, Gold, and Green!!!

OMG !!!!! I've Just seen that this is my 200th post.............Yaaaaaay me!!! I never thought I'd last this long??

Anyway, today my card is for the Stampin Royalty challenge where they have this photo for inspiration.

This is what I made using the 3 main colours I saw of red, yellow, and green.

Unfortunately, my camera angle isn't too good, but the yellow card was embossed with a Butterfly Folder in the Big Shot, and the butterfly gems are bright red!! The flower stamp was inked with SU Write Markers and stamped onto White card which was then cut with a Nestabilitie in the Big Shot. Green ribbon was wrapped around the red card before it was placed on the card at a jaunty angle, and the yellow and green cards were layered on top. The sentiment was raised on 3D pads for dimension, and the finishing touch was the green gems on the yellow card.

Recipe :
Card = Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White, and CB from MS
Stamps = Just Believe
Inks = Poppy Parade, Crushed Curry, and Pear Pizzazz
Tools = Big Shot, Nestabilities, and Butterfly Kisses EF
Extras = 3D pads, Ribbon, Square and Butterfly gems

My toothache is bad again today so I needed the bright colours to cheer me up a bit.

I will be more organised as the week goes on, and I will be putting up some candy to celebrate my 200th post so please pop back and have a look

Thanks for dropping in today

Just for you

Today's card I am going to enter in for the Simply Stampin challenge where they have this lovely warm colour palette,

and the Pals Paper Arts challenge where they have this sketch

I went around to Jacqueline's today to craft ( and chat as usual!!), and the first card I made was admired by Louie ( the handsome black cat), but he decided it needed a little something extra so inked up his paws and added his marks to the flower design!! Aaaaaaahhhhh!!!!!

So after his help, I redid the design and ended up with this card

The ribbon was some candy I won ages ago, but it matches the Melon Mambo perfectly.

Recipe :
Card = Pretty in Pink, Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White, and Clarity Silk card
Stamps = Just Believe
Inks = Wisteria Wonder, and Melon Mambo
Tools = Martha Stewart punch
Extras = Ribbon

Thanks for looking today, and I hope to have time to visit some of your blogs to see what wonderful creations you've been making.

Rose Easel card

After such a bad week, what a lovely relaxing afternoon I've had !.

While the rain came down outside, I've sat vegging out in front of the TV with a nice Cappuccino and a bar of Nutty chocolate, creating a card for a friends birthday next week.

And Yes, I've made it with a challenge in mind, using the colours set by  the Simply Stampin challenge #23

She loves roses so here's the result ( sorry about the picture quality but it's so dark outside )

and here's a close up of the base

I started with a white square card and scored the front in half diagonally, and on the bottom triangle layered it with white, purple, blue and again white card. The top white card had been stamped lightly with some script and splats, and 2 leaves, before the edges were sponged with blue. This process was repeated for the base of the card except for the leaves. I then stamped 8 roses on some pink card and cut them out making 4 smaller for the centers of the flowers raised with 3D pads. Three roses were placed on the front in the left hand corner, and another on the base panel in the right hand corner.I then stamped 2 butterflies using blue and pink onto white card, cut them out, and placed one on the front and one on the base. The antennae were drawn with a pink marker. The base panels were wrapped in pink and purple ribbon with a bow, and a stamped panel with Just for you sentiment added with 3D pads to keep the easel up.

Recipe : Card = Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Melon Mambo, and Lavender Lace ( I haven't got any Perfect Plum )
Stamps = French Foliage, Growing Green, Strength and Hope, and Just Believe
Inks = Melon Mambo, Bashful Blue, and Elegant Eggplant
Extras = Purple and Pink ribbon from my stash ( the pink is from the Make My Monday candy prize )

As it's a Grand Prix weekend I hope to be on the sofa tomorrow, but the race will have to be recorded on Sunday as I'm off to my stepsister, Cassy's in Market Harborough.

I hope you all have a good weekend and I'll see you next week.

Just Believe

It's sunny outside this afternoon, but I'm sat at my table playing with my craft stuff ( I am supposed to be tidying it up!!)

Over at Pals Paper Arts there is a colour challenge this week. PPA105

I wanted to take part, but only had one of the three colours, so I hope it's OK with their DT. I had the Daffodil Delight, but had to substitute the others with Tempting Turquoise and Certainly Celery.

I started with a white card from my stash and roughed up the edges with my scissors before stamping the leaf silhouette from Just Believe in DDelight along the bottom. I then stamped the floral plant and grass in CCelery and TTurquoise onto an oblong of Whisper White card and again roughed the edges. This was then layered onto some TTurquoise that had been treated the same way. I wrapped some ribbon from my stash around this panel and tied a bow on the right hand side. The sentiment frame was stamped onto WWhite and the Stamp-a-ma-jig used to place the words, it was then cut out before being layered on some TTurquosie with 3D pads and the edges roughed up. The butterfly is from the Bliss stamp set and was stamped in DDelight before being cut out and stuck down with some tape along its body so its wings were dimensional.

I'm pleased with the result, and hope you like it too.

Recipe : Card = SU WWhite, TTurquoise, and card stock from my stash
Inks = DDelight, CCelery, and TTurquosie
Stamps =  SU Just Believe and Bliss
Extras = Ribbon and 3D pads from my stash

Thanks for dropping by, and thank you for leaving any comments if you've had the time.

Hope to be back soon

Mojo Monday is Growing Green

Hello fellow crafters,

I'm sorry that I've been so busy lately, but here I am keen as ever to blog again.

My new long awaited SU set Growing Green has arrived and I picked it up yesterday at my friend Jacqueline's, and I just had to start using it, after of course we'd had a good old natter over coffee. I decided to enter my card into the Mojo Monday Challenge so followed their sketch.

I started with a cream card from my stash and randomly stamped the GGreen rose in Real Red over it. I then stamped the leaf spray one above the other and sponged over it in Certainly Celery, and then cut away the right hand edge to make the vertical ribbon. I cut 2 SB nestabilities labels with the BS, one in Wild Wasabi, and one in Whisper White which was then stamped with the GGreen leaf in CCelery and coloured with a water pen to spread the ink. I then cut a circle in Real Red and one in WWhite ( I drew around 2 glasses for the round shapes as I don't have these nesties yet!) and stamped the rose in RRed on the white and again spread the ink with a water pen.A red ribbon and bow from my stash was placed across the card before the layered shapes were stuck on top of it. It was all finished with a RRed sentiment from Woodware.  Phew, there is steam coming from my laptop's keyboard now!! Ooooops.

 Anyway, take a look at the finished article and see what you think

Please drop by again soon if you get a chance to as I've got another,very different, card to show you.

Insect Invasion

Hello friends, Thanks for stopping by my blog and for your patience while I've been having a few health problems.

Today I've finally got the strength to get creating again, and as it's the British Grand Prix I'm rooted to the sofa with my crafting stuff. I've seen that over at Less is More their theme is Something with legs,and at first I thought of the usual butterflies and animals, but then I remembered that I had a set of Inkadinkado insects ( as I'm scared stiff of creepy crawlies,I've no idea why I got these??). So out they came to invade the daisies from SU Inspired by Nature.

To make my entry I used SU Whisper White card for the base and stamped the flowers and grass from Inspired by Nature in Certainly Celery ( my favourite green),Crushed Curry,Melon Mambo, and Rich Razzleberry.I then stamped the caterpillar climbing up the stem with Bermuda Bay and CCurry, and the spider on his thread hanging from the petals in Soft Suede and Dusty Durango.The Bumblebee and sentiment were stamped with Black Archival and coloured with CCurry, before finally rounding all the corners of the card.

Thanks for dropping by,and I hope to show you some more creations in the next few days.

Ink : SU Dusty Durango
Stamps : SU Bliss and Woodware sentiment
Others : Patterned paper, cream ribbon, heart brad from stash.

Organic Grace

Hi everyone,I have another busy day ahead of me,(just for  change!),so I needed a quick card for the Less Is More challenge. Today the theme is Monochrome and here is my take on it,what do you think?

I've used SU Whisper White card stock, and then sponged through a circle cut in scrap paper with Always Artichoke ink.I then used an old favourite stamp set, Organic Grace to create the view,and finished it off with a Woodware sentiment.

Thanks for dropping by and if you have time please leave me your comments as I do appreciate what other crafters think.

Hope you have a great weekend and I'll be back soon. Bev.x

Bliss

This is my favourite Stampin Up stamp set at the moment and I've used it to enter my friend Jacqueline's new challenge blog Make It Monday. I've used Real red to stamp the Bliss ornate flourish where I had masked off the side sprigs to make the design more rounded,and then stamped the sentiment from the Woodware greetings set.The patterned paper is from my stash, and the card used for the mounts is Real Red and Yo Yo Yellow,the scalloped border was done with my Martha Stewart punch,and then finished off with some square gem stones.Here is my card,and if you'd like to see the inspiration sketch on Jacqueline's blog feel free to pop over to it.

Mojo Monday & Simply Stampin'

I am really starting to get into blog challenges now and today I have been clever and combined two. I followed the sketch from this week's Mojo Monday

and the colour combo from Simply Stampin'
and here is my card

I haven't got all the colours yet so I had to substitute a couple. I did however use Stampin' Up stamp set Bliss - which is one of my favourites.
I've been really busy lately making cards so will be back tomorrow with some more - hope you can join me - Bev x.
