Small Wonders

Today I've made 2 cards!! Yes, I know, I was shocked too!

They are for the CAS-ual Fridays  where they want something using Punches or Dies,

and Less is More where Chrissie and Mandi want something for a BABYor CHILD

These are the cards I made,   Aaawwww! I love this die, and want to Thank the DT at CAS-ual Fridays for their Die challenge as it reminded me about the stash of dies I've not used for ages.

This is the pink version

and this is the blue!

This is the die itself which I got off a popular auction site! ( where many of my SU sets etc. come from) and then put all the pieces together

The bears and rabbits ( runny babbits, as Nathan calls them!! ) were all sponged around the edges and the face details drawn on with SU Write Markers. The rabbits and paws of the bears were raised on 3D pads to make them more dimensional.

Recipe :
Card = Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Pink CB, Blue CB and Brown card  from MS
Stamps = Whimsical Words
Inks = Bashful Blue, Regal Rose, Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, Soft Suede, and TH Tea Dye
Tools = Big Shot, Die Monde die, and Nestabilities
Extras = 3D pads, and DP from Create and Craft

This morning I was a guinea pig for my friends Grand daughter who is doing Hairdressing at college. She needed someone with long hair to have a "Spiral perm", and in a moment of weakness several weeks ago, I agreed. Now, I was one of the masses in the 80's that became a poodle while perms were all the rage, but now heated wands and tongs have taken over and curls can be washed out easily!!!  I will let you know tomorrow what I think! I hate having my photo taken ( as you can tell from the absence in my blog profile ) so I wont be making my new wig public, sorry!! but just imagine Brian May from Queen, and you'll know what it's like.

Thanks for dropping by today

Difficult Time

Today's card is for 2 challenges.

The first is for Mojo Monday where they have this sketch

and the second is Color Throwdown where they have these yummy colours

I've made it with Angela in mind, my friends 91year old Mum who has just started Radiotherapy and is feeling really low. I hope it cheers her up a bit

I used my SU Strength and Hope stamps as when I purchased them the price included a donation to Cancer Charity. The green panel was made by using a border die in the Big Shot and turning it around to do the same again on the other side of the card. The butterfly was stamped, cut out and raised on 3D pads, as was the Hope stamp.

Recipe :
Card = Certainly Celery, Pacific Point, Whisper White, and White card base FMS
Stamps = Strength and Hope, Vintage Vogue, and Whimsical Words
Inks = Tempting Turquoise, Pool Party, Elegant Eggplant, and Certainly Celery
Tools = Big Shot, Nestabilities, and Borders die
Extras = 3D pads, and Ribbon

I'm stuck in all day today waiting for an engineer to service my central heating boiler, so what else can I do other than crafting??

Thanks for looking at my blog today, and enjoy your weekend.

Romance and Diamonds

Today, I've finished the card I started at Jacqueline's on Tuesday, that I was making for the Make My Monday challenge where the theme is still Romance, and this week they are looking for Flourishes and Diamonds.

Here is my card

The heart flourishes were stamped in Versamark and heat embossed in gold and the hearts cut out by hand ( I must get a set of heart dies) with the one in the front raised on 3D pads. The rose buds are a spiral circle rolled up with a pink diamond bead in the centres, and the leaves were made with the SU Bird punch in white card and coloured with the green SU Write Marker. The sentiment "always" was  part of a stamp from Whimsical words, and the "love" was written by hand, with a diamond in place of the O.

Recipe :
Card = Very Vanilla, Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, and cream card from stash
Stamps = Always Elegant, Baroque Motifs, and Whimsical Words
Inks = Versamark, Old Olive, and Cherry Cobbler
Tools = SU Bird Punch, and heat gun
Extras = 3D pads, pink diamond beads, diamante gems

Thanks for looking today.

Whimsical Wings Double

For those of you who follow my blog, you will know where I will be this afternoon!!!!

Today I've created a "Double Whammy" and mixed 2 challenges. The first, Clean and Simple Stamping gave me this sketch, and the second, Simply Stampin Challenge gave me these colours to work with, Certainly Celery, Poppy Parade, Whisper White, and Real Red

I started with a white card and masked 1 1/2" off the bottom and stamped the Whimsical Wings large flourish randomly to create a border. Then I used my beloved BS and labels nestabilities to cut a Whisper White and Poppy Parade label, and a strip of Certainly Celery placed under the bottom of the label. The WWings bird was stamped in Real Red and CCelery onto the WWhite and the little flower was from Itty Bitty Buds also in RRed.I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the sentiment from Whimsical Words and stamped it in RRed in the bottom corner, with the flourish in CCelery below it.

Take a look at the outcome

Tomorrow morning I'll be at Jacquelines and hopefully we can get some crafting done, I'll let you know how we get on!!!

Thanks for all your lovely comments, they are gratefully received and appreciated. Please come back soon if you can.
