Simply Peachy

We're having another wet day here, but the birds are still singing their little hearts out! It also means that I can play with Nathan indoors and have time to get my challenge card on my blog.

Yesterday, I made a card for two challenges, and saved them as a draft until I had time to publish them today......well, guess what?....yes, one of them has ended!!! AAAAAAhhhhhh. Never mind I'll post it anyway.

The sketch was from Clean and Simple

and the colours from Stampin Royalty

Here is my card

The peachy card was embossed in a floral folder with a gap left for the white border, before being laid on a concord crush card base. The sentiment was stamped, and the stamped cut out flowers added, with the two largest being raised on 3D pads for dimension.

Recipe :
Card = Concord Crush, Peach Parfait, and Whisper White
Stamps = Vintage Vogue and Basic Phrases
Inks  = Concord Crush, Peach Parfait, and Blushing Bride
Tools = Big Shot, Cottage Floral embossing folder, embossing tool, and Stamp-a-ma-jig
Extras = 3D pads

I hope you like it.

I'll be back soon when us Super Heroes get some time to ourselves!!

Happy Birthday Friend

Today's card is for the ColourQ challenge where they have this palette of yummy colours for us

This is what I came up with

Some red card was embossed and wrapped with a black ribbon, and then the Nestabilities  panels were stamped and decorated before being stuck down. The small panel and large red flower were raised on 3D pads, and the finishing touches are the Shapeabilities sponged butterfly and the red gems ( I hope this is OK with ColourQ ??? )

Recipe :
Card = Whisper White, Poppy Parade, Basic Black, and White card base from my stash
Stamps = Vintage Vogue, My Friend, and Verve
Inks = Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie, and Lucky Limeade
Tools = Big Shot, Nestabilities, Shapeabilities,  Cottage Floral embossing folder, and Stamp-a-ma-jig
Extras = Black ribbon, red gems, and 3D pads

I started this card around at Jacqueline's yesterday afternoon, before having to fly home to mark out my garden boundary, following a dispute with my deceased neighbours son!!!  The story is too long and complicated so I wont bore you, but today all my family came over to erect my new fence. What a long tiring day!!, but after it all I had a fab fence................................and a new sculpture that Nathan made for me, as he says " to keep for ever and ever Aunt Bev". Bless him he was so proud, and it now takes pride of place in my garden. I haven't photographed it yet but I'll show it to you in my next post.

Tomorrow is Grand Prix day so I'll be up with the Lark for the start at 7am, and hopefully I can stay awake long enough to do some crafting in the afternoon.

Monday is my niece Sophie's first Birthday, so I'll be exhausted playing all sorts of kids games, and eating lots of jelly, ice cream, cakes, and sweets!!!!   Why is it when you reach the ripe old age of 9 or 10, these things just don't seem to be top of the menu anymore???

Anyway, I'll be back again soon.

Thanks for dropping by today, and I'd love it if you'd call again soon.

Butterfly Birthday Wishes

Today I have made a card that I will be entering into two challenges.

The first is the Mojo Monday #215
where they have this sketch

and the second is Color Throw down #168
where we have this 4 colour palette

Here is my card

First I put some red card through the BS to emboss flowers on it, and then mounted it on a cream card. I  then embossed some grey, yellow, and off white cards in different folders, sponged their edges and matted strips on the right hand side of the card .

Here's a closer veiw of the different embossing textures, although it's not very clear on the red card ( I forgot to use the tan matt!!)

My BS was working hard for this card as it then cut 3 multi layered yellow flowers and a large off white butterfly. If only the BS could do all these things without me having to crank the handle !!!

The flower parts were layered up, the large stuck flat, and the 2 smaller ones with 3D pads for dimension, and then arranged at the ends of the strips with some grey leaves cut with the 2 step Bird punch. The butterfly's wings were sponged with yellow and red inks and stuck between the flowers by its grey sponged body to leave the wings dimensional. To finish the sentiment was stamped in red on the off white card, 3 red gems added to the flower centers, and 3 yellow gems added in the bottom corner.

Recipe : Card = Real Red ( I don't have Red Riding Hood), So Saffron, Basic Grey, Very Vanilla, and a cream card from my stash
Inks = Real Red, So Saffron, and Sahara Sand ( I don't have grey ink)
Stamps = Verve
Tools = Big Shot, CREA lies Flower Die, Marianne Butterfly die, Sizzix Texture flower plate, Swirl, Budding Vine and Butterfly Kisses embossing folders, and 2 Step Bird Punch
Extras = Red and yellow gems

Well this took quite a while to piece together, what do you think? I hope you like it

For some strange reason Blogger wont allow me to post my Labels list, so when it's behaving again I'll add my lists

That's me for today, and I've got some busy days ahead, but I'll be back as soon as I can.

Thanks for dropping by
