Wish You Were Here!

My plans for today with my niece and nephew, were postponed until tomorrow, so I've been crafting  in front of the fan instead. This is the card I've made

The first thing I did was sponge a water and sky scene on a white base card. I then stamped the wood grain on some brown card to make a beach groin, and cut a hole towards the top. I then cut a white ring with Nesties, and pieced together the sentiment from various stamps, and coloured two areas in red so it looked like a safety ring. This was placed on 3D pads around the hole in the wood, which was then stuck over the base also on 3D pads. I randomly stamped the flourish in white on some blue card and fussy cut half of it so it looked like a wave crashing against the groin, and this was stuck along the bottom of the card. I added a Sea gull sitting on the ring, and finished with some pearls for bubbles.

I am entering it in these challenges :

The sketch comes from Retro Sketches,

Inkspirational have word prompt  SPLASH,

and lastly Make My Monday, have the theme of    VACATIONS

Supplies :
Card - Crumb Cake, Marina Mist, Whisper White, and base FMS
Stamps - Hardwood, Everything Eleanor, and Express Yourself
Inks - Black, Whisper White, Brilliant Blue, Bashful Blue, Poppy Parade, Sahara Sand and Early Espresso
Tools - Big Shot, Nestabilities, Bird Punch, Sponges, and Stamp-a-ma-jig

Are you enjoying the sunshine, and getting ready for the school holidays?, whatever you are doing this weekend and the next few weeks, I hope you have lots of  fun.

Blue China

Today, I have been sat outside crafting in the shade, as the sun is not as hot as it has been. I also had a few hours spare between the tennis matches I wanted to see from Wimbledon.

I randomly stamped cups on blue card for the background and laid it on a white base, and topped with some white card down the centre. I stamped the flourish so it looked like steam coming off a hot drink, and placed a fussy cut cup on top on 3D pads. To finish, I added the two banners that were topped with the Nestie sentiment, and some pearls.

I am also entering it into these challenges :

Today, I could not decide what sentiment to put on my card, so for a change I decided to leave it off all together so I can use it for any occasion.

and Inkspirational have the theme of

I have spent the last few days with my family working hard in my garden. We (well, they! helped by me ) laid a concrete slab base and built a shed on it, and painted 13 6' x 6' fence panels.

This is before, and after the shed. There is still a lot more to do to tidy it up, and to build raised flower beds so I can easily reach weeds and the plants.

Thanks for dropping by

Simply Thanks So Much!

My card today is for two challenges

First, is Clean and Simple with this sketch (# 251),

and then these colours are from

This is it

I cut some pink card with fancy scissors and laid it at the top of a white base. The stamped sentiment was positioned on 3D pads, and topped with the green frame, pink flowers and grey butterfly. I added some gems to the flower centre, and pearls to the butterfly body.

I've made it for my friend, Pat, whose 70th birthday was last Friday, and we all went out for lunch on Sunday as her treat, and Barrie her husband treated me as well!!, so I thought I'd say Thanks with this card.

Supplies :
Card = Melon Mambo, Whisper White, white base and grey card FMS
Stamps = Everything Eleanor, Papillon Potpourri, and
Inks = Melon Mambo, Old Olive, and Basic Grey
Tools = Fiskars Scissors and Elegant Butterfly Punch
Extras = 3D Pads, Gems and Pearls

I've not been too good after my treatment last week, and my mojo seems to have left me again. I went to my friend, Jacqueline's house, this morning to craft, but it took me several hours to come up with this CAS card. I really struggled, while she and Louise made loads of things. Fingers crossed that my creativity returns soon.

My friend Pat, is crazy for anything that is Scottie Dog related, so I made her this tissue box and matching  pop-up card for her birthday, which she said she really loved

The inside has the large dog from the sides of the box, and the little dog from the top of the box and card front, wearing a little pink bow.

I'm off to lie down now, as I've spent 3 hours doing the gardening since I got home, and my joints are screaming with pain. Thanks for dropping by, and I hopem to see you soon

and these colours from Color Throwdown

I started by heat embossing the flourish in opposing corners of some blue card, and adding a 2 layer flower with some leaves. I then fussy cut 3 turquoise flowers and leaves and laid them on a Nestie placed on 3D pads in the centre of the card. Some gems were added to the corner flowers, and 2 butterflies to the centre label, with the finishing touch being the sentiment again on 3D pads.

Here is a closer view of the corner detail and flower.

Life's a Beach!

Yaaaaay! I've just found out I was in the Top Picks at Stampin' Royalty, so Thank You to the Goddesses!

My card today is for three challenges,
The colours are from Stampin' Royalty,

the sketch is Try Stampin' on Tuesday,

and CAS-ual Fridays want something linked with vacations and travel

Here is my card

The boy on the beach was stamped in Archival ink, and a sun and him were masked with a Post it, and the sky and sand were sponged over them. The scene was coloured with an Aqua painter so that the 3 colours went further in different shades.
A yellow flourish that made me think of Seaweed, was fussy cut and placed over some hessian that looks like a fishing net, and I added some aquatic beads to it. The finishing touches were the addition of some shell sequins in the bottom corner, and the stamped sentiment

Supplies :
Card = Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Pool Party, and white base FMS
Stamps = Summer by the Sea, Everything Eleanor, and Verve
Inks = Black Archival, Pool Party, Pumpkin Pie, Summer Starfruit
Tools = Big Shot, Nestabilities, Post Its, and Aqua Painter
Extras = Hessian, Aquatic beads, Shell Sequins, Ribbon, and 3D pads

I had a great birthday yesterday, and ate far too much chocolate cake, but after Mum had made it for me, it would have been rude not to, wouldn't it?! I wont tell you how old I am, but it was a good year for British Football at the World Cup?? The weather was wet, but we made the best of it, and it watered the flowers that Nathan and Sophie had lovingly planted for me.

Thanks fro dropping by today, I'm off now to get around every ones blogs  to see what you've all been up to.

Be back soon

It takes "Two by Two" to Tango!

Yaaay! I made Top 3 at Try Stampin' on Tuesday so "Thank you" to their DT.

Today, my card is for two challenges

The first is Try Stampin' on Tuesday with this sketch,

and secondly with this Tango colour combo

Here is my card with the Two by Two !

I stamped the orange swirl on the saffron card to imitate the waves, and embossed the crumb cake card with a fan EF so it looked similar to the sea.

The Ark panel was stamped in Archival and coloured with Write Markers and an Aqua Painter to give varying tones from the same colours. It was then put in place on 3D pads for some dimension. I used some fancy scissors to cut waves on some blue card and stuck it beneath the Ark.

Supplies :
Card = Naturals White, Crumb Cake, So Saffron, and blue and Ivory base FMS
Stamps =  Two by Two, Everything Eleanor, and Verve
Inks = Black Archival, Midnight Muse, Crumb Cake, Dusty Durango, and So Saffron
Tools = Big Shot, Nestabilities, Fan EF, Fiskars scissors, and Aqua Painter
Extras = 3D pads and Gems

I strongly advise you not to try and make a card when your eyelids are being held open with matchsticks, as you make quite a few silly mistakes! So please don't look too closely. I hope that I can catch up with my sleep on Wednesday, as I'm in hospital again for my monthly treatment and it knocks me out for a few days..........roll on Wednesday!

I'll be back soon, and thanks for dropping by
