Simple One Layer Card

I have been so busy today and I've had no time to myself until now. So to unwind from my day I decided to craft............however, I didn't know where to start!!

In the end I went with the yummy colours at Simply Stampin challenge

and then over at Less is More it's a real tricky challenge of a ONE LAYER CARD using THREE stamps

Well, after what felt like a lifetime, I made this simple card

Those of you who are not aware of Stampin' Up, ( which I use most of the time!!) may think that this is 2 stamps, but the butterfly is a 2 step stamp. The pink wings being 1, and the flower markings and body being 2, and the words are the third. For once I have stuck rigidly to Chrissie and Mandi's brief, so I hope I wont be on the naughty step today ( fingers crossed )

Recipe :
Card = White card base FMS
Stamps = Flight of the Butterfly
Inks = Regal Rose, Real Red, and Island Indigo
Tools = Stamp-a-ma-jig and Corner rounder

Tomorrow, I'm out again, but hope to be home in the afternoon for more crafting

Twelfth Night!

Today my card is for two challenges

The first is Make My Monday where they are doing a Floral month, and this week they want to see Any Flower with Music

and the second is CR84FN where they have this colour palette

Whilst wracking my brains in what to do, I thought of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night line, " If Music be the food of Love, Play on!" and this is what I came up with, what do you think?

Recipe :
Card = Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, a Minty Green and White card base FMS
Inks = Tempting Turquoise, Archival Brilliance White, Black ( my laptop)
Tools = Big Shot, Nestabilities, Shapeabilities, Marianne Designs vine, Readicut Flower punches, Boho Blossoms and Build a Blossom Punch
Extras = Music sheet download, Sentiment done on Laptop, 3D pads and diamond gems

I started this card at Jacqueline's yesterday, but again I struggled with where to start so I punched out the flower first, and the rest followed this morning!? The sentiment is raised on 3D pads to add more dimension.

I wish I knew where my crafting mojo keeps going to?, where ever it is, must be nice as mojo goes there frequently???

I hope to be back soon, so please call again, and thanks for dropping by today

Watch the Birdie!!

My heating engineer has only just left ( 5.22pm ), thank goodness I didn't have anywhere important to be today!!

While waiting for him I had chance to do another card.

It's for the Clean and Simple challenge where they have this sketch

and CAS-ual Fridays where they want to see feathered friends

 This is what I made

I still had my blue and green inks and sponges on my desk so I sponged a label and layered it on a dark green one. I then stamped and coloured the dovecote on some white card, cut it out and stuck it on the label. I then stamped the white doves in grey ink, cut them out and added them to the picture, with the flying dove on 3D pads overhanging the scene. The sentiment was added, and the whole thing was added to some green card that had been embossed. Simples!!!

Here is a closer view of the white doves. I have softened them with an Aqua painter and some grey ink. I tried stamping them in black at first, but they looked too severe so I used the grey.

Recipe :
Card = Garden Green, Green Galore, Very Vanilla, Whisper White, and cream card base FMS
Stamps = Flower Soft and SU Basic Phrases
Inks = Pool Party, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Sahara Sand, and Basic Black
Tools = Big Shot, Nestabilities, Budding Vine embossing folder, and Aqua Painter
Extras = 3D pads

That's it for today, Thanks for looking and I hope to be back tomorrow?

Difficult Time

Today's card is for 2 challenges.

The first is for Mojo Monday where they have this sketch

and the second is Color Throwdown where they have these yummy colours

I've made it with Angela in mind, my friends 91year old Mum who has just started Radiotherapy and is feeling really low. I hope it cheers her up a bit

I used my SU Strength and Hope stamps as when I purchased them the price included a donation to Cancer Charity. The green panel was made by using a border die in the Big Shot and turning it around to do the same again on the other side of the card. The butterfly was stamped, cut out and raised on 3D pads, as was the Hope stamp.

Recipe :
Card = Certainly Celery, Pacific Point, Whisper White, and White card base FMS
Stamps = Strength and Hope, Vintage Vogue, and Whimsical Words
Inks = Tempting Turquoise, Pool Party, Elegant Eggplant, and Certainly Celery
Tools = Big Shot, Nestabilities, and Borders die
Extras = 3D pads, and Ribbon

I'm stuck in all day today waiting for an engineer to service my central heating boiler, so what else can I do other than crafting??

Thanks for looking at my blog today, and enjoy your weekend.

White Flowers

Today's card is for the Make My Monday challenge where the they want to see Lily of the Valley or White Flowers

Here is my card that I'll be entering

and this is a view of it open

The daisies and sentiment were stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with white powder, and then blue and green ink sponged over them through a label Nestabilitie hole. The die cut daisy was sponged in the centre and at the ends of the petals in green and raised on 3D pads so it can hold the card closed.

Recipe :
Card = Clarity silk card, Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White, Wild Wasabi, and white card base FMS
Stamps = Upsy Daisy and My Friend
Inks = Versamark, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, and Old Olive
Tools = Big Shot, Nestabilitie, Shapeabilitie, Corner rounder, and Heat gun
Extras = Ribbon, 3D pads, and White embossing powder

Another rainy day here, but things can only get better, especially as there's a Grand Prix this weekend. So I hope you have a good time what ever you are doing.

Thanks for dropping day today

Mellow Yellow

Yesterday was our craft club and we made a Spring Fold card which I will be entering into the Less is More challenge where the theme is Yellow

Here is my card

And here is a side view

Recipe  :
Card = So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, and Very Vanilla
Stamps = Fresh Vintage and Verve
Inks = Pear Pizzazz and Crushed Curry
Tools = Cuttlebug and die ( Jacqueline's ), and scoring tool, and bone folder
Extras = Cream and yellow ribbons

When I left Jacqueline's club yesterday afternoon, I had to drive down her country lane, which I do every Tuesday, however, this time I encountered a suicidal black and white cat.......now I am a dog lover and cant stand cats ( except Louis, Jacqueline's cat) but I would never hurt one, so being a softy I braked hard to allow the stupid creature to leap to safety. I was relieved to see it scamper away and was quite pleased with myself for avoiding it and I felt happy at doing a good deed..................then my mood seriously changed when I got home........as I opened my cars back door I was met by the entire contents of my craft bag lying across the back seat, a nightmare as you can imagine!!...........but then............AAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!, my bottle of apple and blackcurrant juice had spilt and covered everything from my bag, the rear foot well, and the back seat!!!!......all thanks to that darn cat!!!!

It has taken hours for the car to dry after I sponged everywhere with warm soapy water, and I wont go there to list what I've had to throw away!!

Anyway, my friend is back from Jamaica now, so my Mum Sitting duties are over and I've got some time to myself, and once my chores are done ( Yuk! ) I hope to do some crafting.

Thanks for dropping by today

Fresh Vintage

I've had another crazy busy day today, but when I got home a new parcel had arrived for me to play with, so it would've been rude not to use it!!!!

I've combined two of my favourite challenges and used the sketch from Mojo Monday

and the colours of ColourQ

Here is what I made

After cutting the top off the stamped white label Nestabilitie, I just couldn't throw it away, so I added it as an extra layer under the red label ( It's dark outside so I've got my daylight lamp on over my card as I've photographed it and it looks like orange not red, but it is red honestly!!??)

Recipe :
Card = Ruby Red, So Saffron, Whisper White, and white card base FMS
Stamps = Fresh Vintage and Verve
Inks = Ruby Red, So Saffron, Pool Party, ans Soft Suede ( I don't have Early Espresso )
Tools = Big Shot, Nestabilities, and Stamp-a-ma-jig
Extras = Ribbon

Last day of the week "Mum sitting" tomorrow, so I hope I can get some crafting done this weekend. My BIL still hasn't decided what he wants to do for his birthday on Saturday yet, so my plans could change at the drop of a hat!!

Hope you all have a good weekend what ever you do.

Be back soon
